Thats true but the playstore sometimes omits some apps for different devices and says compatability for the reason but thats usually hogwash.
But TiViMate can be installed on the TiVo. @Streaming429 says they have it on 4 Tivos. Maybe check with them.
I didnāt try installing TiViMate as my phone isnāt compatible, but it is in the playstore, but personally I never use the stores I always sideload.
I signed up and paid right through the app itself
myself as well. I have no concern about tivimate only how tivo worked and did people like itā¦heck I could put tivimate on a etch a sketch if I wanted. 
Guess I rambled off topic with your question. Sorry about that. So the short answer isā¦yes we love our TiVo Stream 4K. Lol
Thanks, No ramble just good conversation I was just making the point im not concerned about tivimate as that will be a non-issue. The Tivo is what im hoping will fit the bill for these folks because nothing else does

Very simple and easy to set up and use. If my Wife and In Laws can use it without issueā¦most can

I have three TVās here and a Tivo Stream 4K (with 32MB thumb drive) on each. All have TiviMate sideloaded, and working just fine. After using Firesticks for a number of years, I moved to the Tivo Stream 4K and have never looked back.
