Wondering if anyone else is facing this issue? I got notified of an available update to Tivimate, so I installed it. Upon reboot I got a legal disclaimer agreement that I’ve never seen before. When I accepted it, everything was blank. All my playlists are gone.
Update: It appears to have been a bad beta version update. I had to completely uninstall it, install the last stable release, then restore my settings. All is fine now.
I have been on Tivimate all day and I never got a notification. For an update , Thank you for the information. You just saved a lot of people from losing their playlists. Sorry, this happened to you.
@Miki been using Tivimate for years never did a backup. Reading this thread I want to. I went to “backup data” and none of the options had any folders nor could I find a way to make a new folder. Is there somewhere else in Tivimate to do this?
I’m using an ONN 4K Pro. Do I need to somehow create a folder on the ONN. I don’t do external storage at all
EDIT: - I found a video showing me to choose the “Download” folder then just hit save and all good. Thanks
I save to the download folder on the internal storage. I use X-plore to copy it to the USB drive. Or I use the send files to TV app to copy it to my phone and then put it on other devices. You just have to make sure each device has the same version of Tivimate installed before restoring. Which is another reason to always do a new backup after an update.
In the General settings. Im on a 2019 Shield. It has some redundant Android file folders. You must chose a folder from your device to save the backup file. I put my backups in the Ringtones folder.
That’s how I do it. When I have TiViMate working perfectly with all my favorite settings, I back it up on a USB drive. I then use that backup to setup TiViMate on other streaming devices using the “restore” option. That saves a lot of time without having to do the same repetitive set up all over again.
Yeah, I thought that was implied lol. You definitely want to setup favorites. Push and hold the select button when you’re in the guide to select favorites in batch mode so you don’t have to do it one at a time.
Here’s the link to a video I made that goes over how to do some basic functions in Tivimate. You can skip the beginning but I do go over how to backup and restore.
