Tivimate recording question

I have my IPTV set up with Tivimate on 3 Firesticks. I have got all 3 so they will record to the same folder on my computer. I can see all programs in the folder that record from each Firestick. The problem is that on the Firesticks - I can only watch the recording that was recorded by that Firestick, not the other two. I cannot find anything in the properties of the recording that would make any difference in the recordings. Anyone else have this issue?

hard for me to say as I dont use firesticks but you could possibly set the folder on your pc as shared (I use linux) so if its windoze I cant help there but it should be easy. To verify its setup on a firestick install x-plore file manager and click on lan and then search and see if it sees the pc folder. If it does leave it running and do the same on other sticks. Look into running a samba server on your local network and sharing files locally.

edit… and its possible firesticks are locked down to not allow that for some stupid reason.

It’s a lot of things that are that way for FireTV. A 3rd party app installed on one firestick cannot be read by another firestick. No idea why. That’s the way it is. Same as they can only read and write Fat32, although the 3rd gen Cube can read and write to NTFS. Amazon should fix this code but never have.

I honestly think, IF you can, dump the FS altogether & get something that isn’t so controlling as to what you can/can’t do. Seems I’m seeing more & more of the issues faced are related to FS.

I started out with FS in 2019 for myself & my roomie but moved on to the Nvidia Shield & BuzzTV x5 box. Sure, there are issues you come across - big one being updates that almost brick the box or wreck some feature (lesson learned - DON’T be in a hurry to install updates till you research how it affects other users)

As to your recording issue, possible updates to the FS could be the culprit - seems when you buy a FS, thinking it’s yours to do with it - then along comes Amazon dictating how you use it - not acceptable!!!

I only use Firesticks, in this case Max, and have never had one issue with them. Like nvidia or any other streaming device supplier there may have been some glitches with updates but were resolved, like Nvidia, in a timely manner. I guess I’m just one of the lucky ones that loves the FireTV OS and find it easy to use and without any invasive stuff from Amazon. Fire it up, make sure VPN is on, go to Tivimate and start watching TV. Haven’t gotten the old stopwatch out to check how long that takes, but I bet it’s under 30 seconds. Does exactly what I want. But then I never record either.
