Stupid question here. I’m watching a channel and decide to look at the EPG while the channel I was watching still plays in upper corner. I scroll down a bit and find nothing I want to watch. How do I go back to the original channel without re finding it on the EPG?

Like @TXRon suggested but doesn’t work on my shield pro I long press the back button to open the preview in fullscreen. Now you can have a channel you are watching in full screen then click the return arrow to open the EPG, scroll and select any channel and click to choose it, then long press the return arrow to open that channel in full screen, then if you want to return to the previous program quickly click the right side of the direction ring. You can do that to switch between two channels.

If you started watching the new channel and you want to change back, I’m using the 4K Maxx remote and I just hit the circle real quick on the right and it goes back to the original channel. If you did not start watching the new channel and you want to go back to the original channel you got to go back to the group it was on and then find a little yellow arrow and that’s your channel or go by the name whatever fits your bill

Yup that’s why I said to open any channel in full screen and then quick press right direction to get back to your original program you were watching. I can’t tell you the number of times I was watching a program then surfing the EPG, and completely forgetting what channel I was on. But then I’ m not the brightest star in the universe. @TXRon holds that honour.

That’s interesting, TXRon. In Tivimate, on my Ugoos AM8, long press on the back button returns me to full screen. Double press takes me back to main EPG menu. I’m using the G20 remote. Did you program your remote to use double click?

im using the wechip mini remote. Its possible I used button mapper, can’t remember 
I’m using the MeCool remote and have tried variations and still it won’t revert back to original channel
Guys… Go into the playback and guide settings in Tivimate and play around with it. You can turn off the double click and you can turn off channel preview. There’s so much you can do if you try.

What did you do Remy? I have the MeCool remote also and haven’t figured out how to get back to the channel I was watching without scrolling back to it in the EPG.

OK, what I found that worked with the remote was this. Your watching a channel and want to look at another channel. Long press OK until the menu comes up on the bottom of the screen. Move over and click on channel list and your viewing channel will appear on the right size. The channels will show up on the left with the channel times showing up in the middle. Look for whatever you want on any channel and if you don’t want it hit the back arrow on the remote and it return you to the viewed channel. Play with the remote and see how it works. I’m still learning

I long press the Back Button. Then the screen will automatically go full screen and get back to the channel location…
Pretty sure you guys are making this more complicated than it needs to be. Let me finish watching my movie and then I’ll check my settings. From the guide if I push the back button it goes back to the channel I was watching. Don’t remember what setting I changed because it’s been that way for a long time.
Major easy for me. Long press the return/back button and I return to the channel I was watching. Doesn’t get easier than that.

Go to the remote control settings then tv guide and change the back button function to actually go back.
Everybody just kind of has their own opinion what button to use to go back on the remote. Everybody does a differently.
Funny thing is I tried that earlier today and it didn’t work. Just tried it and it works! My box is possessed! Whatever the reason it works now
