Was having problems playing anything last night on any of my Playlists and figured I’d mess with it today. So this is really Strange. On the Left side I see all my Playlists and channels however nothing plays, everything is Spinning. Here is what is weird. when I go into Settings then either Playlists or EPG’s Nothing is there on the right side? All my Playlists and EPG’s would typically be listed there and now there is nothing. No Playlists, NO EPG’s, No Default EPG absolutely nothing. I didn’t change any of my settings the only thing I noticed is I thought I was on Tivimate 4.2 but I see it is now 4.3. But I would think if there were issues with a point release I’d see the posts in here already.
I’m running Tivimate on an Android Box and there are no issues with the Box since I also run KODI on the same box and absolutely no issues there. I’ve rebooted my Modem/Router a few times as well but no help there
Has anyone ever seen this where I can see all my playlists and Channels on the left like normal (although none playing) but when I go into my settings there are no playlists or EPG’s. It’s like the left side got frozen and everything got wiped. Any recommendations? I know my way around KODI but I’m fairly new to Tivimate and IPTV. Since I can’t access my playlists I’m assuming they are gone. Would it be best to just delete the APP and all data and download it again and start Fresh? Yes I think I saw there was a backup function but of course I never bothered with it.
Updates can do some strange things…I’d just reload your playlists…& if that doesn’t work, then yes, start all over with a fresh download. Whenever you get everything set up how you like it…do a backup, then it’ll be in your file manager if needed. I set up one tivimate, do a backup & send my backup to other devices so all are identical.
Thanks Pangaeatech. Something is definitely Wonky (Technical Term!) and I think the Update fried my Tivimate. In the time since I wrote my Original Posts, My Playllists and EPG’s came back under settings then they disappeared again. If/When They (hopefully) come back again going to try a backup and if I can’t do that just going to zap everything and start again. Will take me a while to set everything back up again but a lesson learned in backing stuff up I guess. KODI is much easier to wipe and reinstall without needing backups so I guess I just got used to that. If I have to reload all my Playlists/EPG that may be quite cumbersome
If you are using one of the free playlist they tend to become corrupt due to the owner moving it or just working on it. I actually deleted most of my free list last night because I noticed tivimate searching for epg’s that most likely were gone.
I have 6 playlists with 5 Free (found here) and 1 paid. So since ALL of them disappeared I’m thinking it must be something else other than corrupt playlists/EPG’s. But yes when I was able to see my Playlists and EPG’s I did notice that one of my EPG’s (may have been GitHub) was spinning and the message said couldn’t update. My Default EPG is my Paid Service. Is it possible a corrupted EPG could fry my paid EPG I have set as Default? Because as I said in my Original Post nothing is playing anymore.
I would delete the free list and re-install the paid and see if that fixes it. The free ones normally are fine as long as they are maintained. If they are not they can slow you down if they are extensive and that is what I have just done…a little house cleaning.
To be honest Mark, I wouldn’t backup anything if playlists/epgs are coming in & out…sure seems like some corrupted files from the update. IMO…it’s better to just start fresh with an updated download…I’m sure Troy has an updated version on his RAI by now…yeah, it’ll take a bit to get things like they were, but you won’t be fighting software glitches if you start off anew. I spent all day yesterday factory resetting my main box…so I can relate.
Great responses guys. @TXRon ill bet it’s that huge playlist someone posted here (I named it BigAss) that took 10 minutes to process that is messing with everything. Either that or the update from 4.2 to 4.3 on Tivimate. Anyway good lessons to be learned about not loading every single playlist and EPG I see. And @pangaeatech spot in about just starting Fresh especially if I have some corrupted Files. Just a royal pain in the Ass but yeah. Okay thanks guys.
Well most likely that was me posting the playlist and yes it was big but not well maintained. I deleted it after a week or so. I will refrain from posting them unless I find one working about 90% or better. The large list are always trying to update which will eat bandwidth if it gets out of hand. I am always in the hunt for ustvgo playlist that works. I have found many clones that work a few days and then die off. I have 3 paid list currently soon to drop to 2. Anyways good luck in the fix.
No worries TxRon, appreciate the work you do here. Like I said the IPTV side of the house is all new to me and I really didn’t need more than the 18,000 Plus channels that my paid service provides. I was just playing around with a new toy so as long as I have a paid service that gives me everything I need (basically Sports and Local ) I don’t need the other Free Stuff and will get my movies and shows on KODI. I’ll just blow up what I have, download a fresh copy of Tivimate and just reinstall my 1 paid service. All good!
Thanks. By the way I decided to try the ustvgo apk from apkpure v9.9.1 and it works great on my ugoos box but the same apk on my tivo4k it doesnt …at least not yet. The box is in use and I was told to get out and leave it alone.
Holy Smokes. I deleted that Huge Free Playlist as well as a few of my other Free Playlists and it’s like my Tivimate is completely Liberated! LOL my Paid Service operating like a Boss again. Watching my Favorite Hockey Team again.
But as @pangaeatech said I will now back that crap up!
Okay this brings up another point. I was backing up to this Box. What are you using for Tivimate backups? I have a few USB Flash drives laying around. Perhaps I should slap that into my Box and Backup to there. My Boxes are old I’ve never had an issue but I’ll be the first to admit I am lacking in the backup Dept. LOL!
just a usb flash drive. I have one I use to save back ups on. With a fresh install of tivimate all you would need to do is navigate to the backup and everything is there. No need to input any urls or passwords.
I backup to a file in downloader on my firestick. I imagine you can backup to any folder you name on your device, unless you’re concerned your device will die. Then when reinstalling I point to the file located in “Downloader”.
Speaking of backups, I backup locally and then use ES File Explorer to copy the backup file to my One Drive. This way one backup file can be accessed by all my Fire devices in case it’s needed.
