TiviMate closing after about three minutes

I’m having some trouble with TiviMate . A m3u will play fine for about three minutes then it starts freezing up then it kicks me out of the app . This just started today . Im running a Nvidia Sheild pro . Is it time to delete an reinstall ?

make sure the fans are on. I keep mine on the highest setting…for starters

You could also try a can of compressed air. Short sprays to the fan vents on the Shield to blow the dust out and keep the air flowing freely.

If it isn’t a heat issue…this kinda’ sounds like the Nord VPN protocol snafu a while back…switching protocols to TCP or UDP I believe corrected that similar problem.

I’ll give that a try .

It can be several things, just starting with easiest

I tried switching protocols but that didn’t work . After 4 minutes it starts freezing up then totally stops then the app becomes unresponsive . I have to then force close it completely . I am running out of ideas .

are other apps acting like this or just tivimate?

So for just Tivimate .

try going into android>>>settings>>>apps>>>tivimate and force stop, then clear cache ***do not clear data…then try again

Tried that 3 or 4 times didn’t work .

I’d say it’s time to go ahead & do a backup…dump & reinstall a clean copy from Troy’s Toolbox…if he still carries the player there.

You running a vpn? If so, try turning it off and test or try a different vpn and test.

If you have multiple subs you can disable one at a time to see if its one of them causing issues.

Sounds to me like a memory issue. Force close all your other apps running in the background before you open Tivimate and see if that helps. You can also go into the settings and reduce or completely turn off your buffer size. It is possible there’s a bug that is causing unusually high memory usage. In that case, uninstall and reinstall.

VPN issues wouldn’t close your Tivimate app. Your stream would just stop and show the loading wheel.

I beg to differ about your vpn viewpoint. SS was causing all sorts of issues with an assortment of apps being able to function properly and one of the issues was it was causing an app to crash and would kick me out back to my NVidia’s home page. Once I replaced SS with Express that issue has not happened again, along with a host of other issues pertaining to or linked to Surfshark.

Could be coincidental, but…?

Today my Tivimate for some reason is working better . It’s not freezing up like it did last night . I’ve read on here about many having problems with Surf Shark of late an switching to Express View vpn an got better performance and speed with it . Can I purchase it for one month to try it out ?

Sure, a 1 month sub is $12.95 i believe. Or you can get a longer sub and cancel before 30 days if you arent satisfied and get your money back.

I haven’t had the problems some have had with SS and I assume there will be some bug fixes in the next update. So I’ll be sticking with them for the great deal for one. I know you tried different protocols (Open), but also choose the protocol manually (not automatic) as I’ve heard this has helped some folks.
