Just tried creating custom groups for the first time this week. Can be tiresome on the auld eyeballs but well worth it in the long run. I don"t doubt youâll keep track of the moved channels, I just put it out there in case someone didnât know the channel no longer resides in the original location. I learnt the hard way by accidentally deleting a group and temporarily âlostâ the channel until I updated the playlist to rebuild the original âparentâ
Oh ya. Thatâs why I thanked you. Bits of info like you and TXRon gave are pure gold to me and to the site members. Itâs actually amazing how you can get stuck on something, canât figure it out, but ask for help, and voila, the insider team comes together to help. Thanks everyone.
Could one of you guys jot Down the steps for us all or make a video! Thank you all
I put the step by step in one of my replies.
So I long press on a channel>copy channels>select channels I want in that category>press right side of direction ring for copy/move>Select the group I want those channels in> now delete channels from Favourites.
Yes I thought you did but wasnât sure if there was 1 step missing? Thank you for this, multiple services make it almost a necessity to make groups. But I do like having some duplicates for quick refresh.
Youâre right. I left out the create group step which is the first step. Sorry.
The first thing to do is say I have CBS Dallas in my favourites and itâs a news channel. I open âfavouritesâ then find CBS Dallas in my list. Now long press on that channel and an options panel opens on the right. Scroll down and click create group and name it News, and folloqw on screen prompts. Now go back to the channel and I long press on the channel>copy channels>select channels I want in that category>press right side of direction ring for copy/move>Select the group I want those channels in> now delete channels from Favourites
OK guys,
Iâm trying to figure out where & how to create (a) custom favorite list(s).
Iâve got about 30-35 favorites, but sorting them by catagory would sure be nice.
I just what Iâd like is a step by step on how to do this, assuming that Iâm a relative TivMate newbie.
Long click in the EPG, and scroll down to CREATE GROUP. Create which you want, then find your favorite channels. Long click again in the EPG, scroll down to COPY CHANNELS. Checkmark the ones you want to move, click RIGHT on on the d-pad. Click which Group you want them in and then COPY or MOVE, depending on if you want to make/keep a duplicate channel.
I gave the step by step instructions in my post just before yours. What did I miss that you need? AMD reworded it above. Same instructions as mine though. So let me know what else you need.
I didnât see that âcreate groupâ in that column.
OK, I think that Iâm ready to try it.
Ahhh ok. Ya thatâs the starting point. Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck.
What I have been doing lately is if I have a channel that buffers at times I will find a duplicate Channel or duplicate station on a different Channel place it right next to it my same category and then make it one of them invisible to switch between channels
Has anyone found a good way (is it even possible?), to save your Tivimate setup and move/load it to multiple devices. Say you have 2 IPTV services and you want to set up your folders, etc, and only have to do it manually once. Can you save that and move it to three or four devices to quickly emulate that same setup?
You do that with the backup/restore function found in settings. Pretty simple if you have a setup you like back it up and on another tivimate you can restore that file and there ya go.
How do you access the file from the other devices?
several ways but I usually copy my backup to a usb drive and move it there.
I was trying to think of ways that wasnât a USB drive, for my Max, etc. Can you use a Cloud?
sure you can, ive also used smb to transfer on lan.
Thatâs great. Would save me a lot of work. Thanks @TXRon!
That loaded setup just loads the groups, etc, right? It wouldnât save playlists/epgs?
