The FCC Bans Cable TV Companies from Offering À La Carte Options For Local ABC, CBS, NBC, & FOX Stations | Cord Cutters News

It’s a very dumb antiquated law.No one should be forced to pay exorbitant fees for something that is supposed to be free.Problem is these groups like tegna go in and buy up more and more local channels, then turn around and ask more money from the middle man, which in turn costs the subscriber.Nothing but pure greed, but sadly I doubt anything will change.

This is why more regional cable operators/providers are simply quitting the business. The pure greed on the part of various corporate channel broadcasters, even supposed “free over the air” ones makes for ever increasing fees to cable providers, which are then passed along to customers. Many customers as a result, have become fed up with what they are being charged and continue to cut the cord in increasing numbers. If these corporations don’t learn, look themselves in the mirror and start to exercise restraint, they’ll continue to lose business. People will continue to dump satellite and cable, then find alternative streaming sources at a lower cost for news, entertainment and sports.
