I don’t like this at all. Not only are they spying on us, they are using our bandwidth which for many is limited. There is no reason that they should copy or screen every 500msec. They are receiving data that is not their business and could be private. Seems like if I have a PC attached and go to my doctor’s website, it would be a clear violation of HIPPA laws.
Where would anyone find the ACR features?
Those concerned about privacy should check their TV settings and consider disabling ACR features if available.
I am also wondering if you are streaming programs, on a separate device, and using a VPN if that ACR info would be accessible?
Thanks for that link Miki. I had most of that disabled but not all. I feel like the best thing to do would be to never allow your tv to connect to the internet.
NOW you all know why I hate I SPY GOOGLE! I only have my Sony connected through my Cudy AX3000 Surfshark VPN protected router & completely disabled google in it. The home page won’t even load! The only thing I ever use the Sony for is my TV antenna channels. The Sony TV’s are the very best for antenna reception above every other TV out there, & it has ATSC 3.0 tuner in it. I only have 4 channels at present of 3.0 channels but I do have some at least. Oh, & thanks for the link Miki! I will check that out.
Man I really wanted to comment politically but I won’t.
