Syncler versus Kodi

I tried Kodi 3+ years ago when I first got into all this but found it to be a bit hit & miss. Since then I’ve been using Syncler quite successfully. Yet, I see Kodi is still going strong and it appears many people still use it as their primary go-to app.

Does anyone believe I should continue using Syncler, and install Kodi with a few Add-ons, or just stay the way I am?

Been using KODI since 2016. I use Builds and will incorporate other Addons into them but using just a few addons works quite well too. Umbrella, Infinity (Umbrella clone), and The Crew have all been working great for a long time. Make sure you get a Debrid service (I use Real Debrid) and Trakt works really good with KODI as well

So, I’m guessing that you’re using a premium hosters service (RD, PM, AD, etc.)

Why don’t you just reinstall Kodi again - add the 2-3 relevant add-ons, and use them in conjunction with Syncler and formulate your assessment on if Kodi satisfies what your needs are. No risk, aside from time.

If it does, cut out Syncler and the cost behind it until Kodi doesn’t do it for you anymore. You can always return to syncler.

Syncler has a better interface, imo. The quality of scrapers “may” appear to be better - hard to tell, but pretty close.

Do you have to pay for Syncler ?

Yes, but not much

When I first started streaming and giving up on cable, I too was using Kodi a lot. But I found that Kodi had to be updated too frequently, buffered a lot and required a lot of maintenance to keep working. I got tired of keeping it fresh. Syncler has been the best service that has given me almost perfect service ever since (for movies and TV series primarily). I still use YouTubeTV for my everyday live TV watching (mainly because my wife is not tech savvy), and along with Premiumize and iPVanish, I’ve been a happy camper now for several years.

If you experienced any buffering at all on KODI I can 100% tell you that is on your end. There is absolutely ZERO buffering on KODI if your equipment is functioning correctly.

IMO I think the issue is not Kodi vs Syncler rather, what hardware are you using.

Because I use a fire stick, I don’t like Kodi. It’s too large and I always end up getting buffering. I gave up on it, years ago.

If you have a Nividia Shield or other android boxes, Kodi will work really well and is worth it.

For that reason I stick to Syncler (which I pay for as back up) and Stremio. Stremio has come a long way and is free. The rare times there is an issue or I can’t find a show, I turn to Syncler.

Syncler beta is probably the best VOD app because it offers some customisation compared to Stremio and Weyd.
But it can’t compete with kodi because it has way more customisation available, including many different skins that can be customised to look like or better than any of the VOD apps that are available.
I use Arctic Zephyr 2 resurrection skin it light and has some great customisation.
I only use a couple of addons and they auto update so no maintenance other than cleaning cache when needed.
Or you could install an addon to do it automatically if preferred.

I use a build on 1 of my tv’s and you have to be patient due to a lot going on with setting it up. Some people feel they don’t have the time and become too frustrated with it. Addons are much easier to use for those I stated above.
