Suspensions for violating rules

I am glad that Troy has made this move getting sick of people asking same questions over and over good work @ Troy maybe this will stop all of this do your research first

That doesn’t have anything to do with it. It’s the rude responses from people and the arguing back and forth that is the problem. This is supposed to be a place where people can learn from each other and share ideas and experiences.

These are the rules that Troy says will get you a 2 week suspension if your post is flagged. Not performing a search is the first one so now I’m a bit confused. How will someone know if you did not perform a search and as a newbie here I’m scared to ask questions???

Wow I posted a topic completely in Portuguese, and nobody caught that one wow. No the point is everybody’s being rude to each other, rude
statements and it’s getting out of hand so he reposted the rules! If you’d have done a search you would have found this out because you would have come across his statements to the fact that I just told you.

Whats been going on is exactly what @Jayhawks659 said and it has got out of control as of late. Back in the day we called them “forum trolls” and all they care about is disruption and pushing the boundries. I always try and stear clear of them…until they start with me and it never ends nice.

Everyone receives a welcome email with these rules outlined so right from the start they should know what isn’t appropriate. Hopefully a two-week suspension will entice them to read the rules again.

We will still have patience with newcomers except for Rule #2.

The big thing here is #2, being nice to people. I am getting emails in my inbox complaining about this as people don’t want to participate in the forum anymore due to this problem. Longtime Founding Members have left due to various members in the forum who are constantly being rude. It’s pretty easy to look at a post and determine whether someone is being kind or not.

Again, we have no time to babysit and we won’t anymore.

It’s pretty simple, be nice to each other.

I would not say EVERYBODY - but I get your point for sure. Troy has said it’s usually the same four or so that are the main culprits.
I really appreciate the new emphasis on the rules as it will surely weed-out at least some of those that just want to gripe, argue, bemoan or belittle others.
I do like to cut up & inject some humor on here at times, but try hard to do it in a way that is clearly meant for fun. I ALWAYS double and triple check my writing prior to posting…mainly to see if my “tone of intention” does not sound condescending, or just come across the wrong way. I will probably cut it back now just to add an extra abundance of caution due to the importance of our mighty resource here.

A person is either self-aware and capable of change, or they are not. For those that are not, let me spell this out; Sarcasm and snide remarks are in fact NOT kind and are a violation of the rules.

Only Troy and his team will decide what is in violation of the rules, as stated by him.

We can flag a post we feel violates said rules but we do not decide.

I have found this to be a problem in many forums I have had over years. Let’s face the fact there are many out there that aren’t as brilliant as some on this forum. LOL! However, just that little patience and understanding can go a long way. I know I have asked some really dumb questions and do expect a knee jerk reaction from some. BUT, there are those who seem to take some questions very personal. Yes, there are trolls and basically rabble rousers that just like to stir the pot but most tend to ignore and some take the bait. I can’t even begin to say how much I have learned over the years, even asking dumb questions
