I have been frustrated with big decrements in Surfshark download speeds the last few months so I checked many connections all over the world. They were all about the same (within 10-15%) slower or faster than the US locations? Shouldn’t the US connections be faster when using Surfshark in the USA?

In theory yes but if the US server is over saturated and the others are not that could give better speeds.
My IPTV provider recommends Israel and india. I’ve tried them didn’t see no difference. What speeds do you get throughout the world when you’re testing a servers? Again when I went back to Los angeles, it would not connect the first time, I had to shut off and re-engage surfshark before it connect.
Hello AJS1: I am also using LA as my closest location. I have horrible Surfshark decrements down from unconnected at 300mb, to Surfshark LA 50mb or less. All over the world connections were 40-60mb.

Yeah I only have AT&t U-verse so the most I can gets 55. But the surfshark does not affect my download speed. Probably cuz it’s only at 55.
You all do realize the further your VPN goes out the higher the ping and higher the MS will cause the encryption to slow right? So if you are in the US and using a different country that will slow you down… Once again it does not matter as long has you have enough speed to stream. The fastest closed server is typically the best one but that still does not beat congestion.
