Surfshark won’t connect on Fire tv but works on phone and tablet. What should I do? I made sure I have updated version

Has anyone had issues with surfshark? I have been using it on fire sticks for a few years no issues. No evertime I hit connect the srceen goes black and end up at the firestick home srceen.
I’m thinking that issue might be similar to the issue that AJS1 talked about in another in the thread listed below. I pasted AJS1’s quote for reference.

I think the SS didn’t have anything to do with my never show box not wanting to power up. I think that was a mistake on my CEC. However it did take me over 15 times and finally logging off and logging on my SS to get it to take a stream. But the SS kill switch was engaged.
