I installed SurfShark on my computer. Then on my nvidia shield and an amazon fire stick. My question is: Do I have to do anything with each individual app or am I protected in general? Is this a silly question?
You should be set but looking into settings you can make many adjustments such as protocol for the vpn, bypass apps or route through etc. Its worth your time to dig around and have a look in case you do encounter connection problems.

Like Ron said, it should be set it and forget it, to a point. You can set the protocol to Automatic (default), run with the rest of the default settings and hope for the best. Or you can tinker and try different combinations to try and maximize your speed through the VPN, trying a speed test in between each different combination.

@tuna If the Killswitch is important, make sure you turn that on. Anytime I’ve installed on my devices, it’s been off by default
