It should work fine with AOSP. I’ve never had a problem on any AOSP boxes that I’ve reviewed and there have been many. Please explain more and why you don’t think it’s working. Lots of people get internal and external IP addresses confused. It doesn’t change your internal addresses on your network as there is no reason for that. It does change your public-facing IP address though.

make sure whatever app you use to check the ip is routed through the vpn.
