I have used Nord Vpn for as long as i can remember.

After Troypoints video on vpn speeds, i did a comprehensive search on numerous tech reviews.

I am not saying that Surfshark is bad. The attached review speaks for itself.

https://www.usnews.com/360-reviews/privacy/vpn/surfshark

after a quick glimps of that article its obvious they are poor at research and most likely are paid to do so.

You’re welcome to your views. But as you said " after a quick glimpse"

I only posted it as information because i was surprised at the results.

I dont understand your comments that they are poor at their research.

Perhaps you could clarify.

Many reviewers are paid. And theirs is not the only review with their findings.

In the bullet points they say they have no static IP’s, this is false and made the entire article un-reliable.

One bullet point error doesn’t make the entire review unreliable.

But, i won’t cross swords with you over this. We are all entitled to our points of view.

Have a nice evening.

No problem and sorry if that was harsh, I just view articles like this as click-bait in attempt to suade one to purchase their advertiser…who I would guess is express vpn. All good, have a nice evening.

No offence taken Ron.:+1: I am just trying to consider changing to Surfshark after reading their website.

So i read every review i can.

But thank you for your thoughts.

I hear lotsa people lately bragging about how a recent surfshark up date made speed much better. I have SS and proton on my router and dont use the app and both work well for me.
Heres an independant review

The only problem I have with SS right now is every so often it will disconnect I’ll have to reboot it the VPN. I used to have a lot more trouble with SS with buffering and other issues, however there tech support had me change the DNS numbers and that got a lot better actually cured the problem. But I was hoping with these updates I would not have to reboot it so often. But somebody said 700 hours is good. But right now I got to do it every 30 to 50 sometimes it gets up to 80. And when I have to reboot SS sometimes I have to do several times until I finally get the stream to connect I’ll have internet but the stream won’t connect. Another thing the switch to automatic connect after disconnect doesn’t work because after a loss of internet and the kill switch initiates it’ll automatically reconnect and I won’t know when the disconnect happened. I have the automatic connect off.

Oh hey since I got moved over here this section, I’ll make a statement about speed of the VPN. I don’t lose any internet speed when I initiate the ss. Never have. Years ago and I had ipv VPN I would lose speed from 55 to 30 maybe down to 20. But not with SS.

Once again Surfshark is at its best!! So my subscription ends in December and through Troy point there’s an awesome deal so after going back and forth a few times they assured me that I can get the four months and that cheap awesome price and it would be added on to my current subscription and as the true form I just checked and I got the deal and it did add to my subscription that I already had I know there was some confusion about renewal well this should answer everything thanks Troypoint. Yes I’m safe for another two years and four months

I will be in the same position in a few months. Can you expound on the procedure you used, step by step, to renew your membership, get the awesome price and four months added to your subscription. Please Advise

I have SS. I have a few questions. If SS is installed on router and you have several TVs all is protected, right? I have a fire TV with SS and Kodi installed. I have a fire stick that I want to use when traveling. If I plug the fire stick into my fire TV, and plug the fire stick into a different HDMI port, can I run Kodi on the fire stick without SS being installed on the fire stick and assume the SS on the TV protects the fire stick?
Also, would you be concerned, when traveling, staying at hotels, using their wifi, using the fire stick without SS?

Sorry I just saw this having surgery. Well it seems my account expired in Dec so I went back forth . The deal Troy was posted ended. But if you use the same email. It it extends your account like how could I give up that 4 months free 2 years at $2.09 a month . If you have enough time n a special comes out just use your email and there will be added on to your original account like like I said mine was done in December and when I took that 4 months and 2 years and something change and extended it to like 2026 May which is awesome cuz otherwise you got to change your email and you know cuz there’s always some kind of deal out there I hope this helps you any other questions please feel free to text me back

Sorry about surgery… I tried it on my own about a week ago. Went thru Troy’s toolbox and all worked out well. Added 28 months to my subscription at a great price. What I did notice is the expiration date immediately extended when I went on SS website on my PC but all my devices only get the new expiration date after the individual device is in need of a SS update and I update.
Thank you and I appreciate the input.

For me a see 2.19 a month and three months free. Looking for the better deal.

For me the best thing to do has been get into the chat with the SS reps. You can negotiate the best deal there and even mention the Troypoint one. Look, like Sirus Xm, it cost them nothing to have you as a customer so they benefit highly by retaining you. Sirius is passing the the stations though your radio, they can have you pay for it and anything is better than nothing. Same deal with VPN’s. The servers are there. Want some of my money? Give me your best deal.

Hello, you may have already seen my video on this when I use the same equipment as you for testing. The download speeds that you get when VPN is connected is largely based on the power of the CPU in your device.

You usually aren’t going to get gig speeds over WiFi on streaming devices. You will see in my video when using NVIDIA SHIELD PRO with gig Ethernet I do get over 900 Mbps with VPN off. Again, it all depends on the device that you are using for this as well.

Thanks for your comparison of the two!

Hi folks I’m unable to post topic but if someone can post. VPN SurfShark if you go on app settings and click several times it gives opportunity to to the mobile version or the TV version I don’t know if anybody’s aware of that I just found it by chance okay just wanted to put that out there thanks for letting me use your post to get that out happy holidays and streaming
