Surfshark Different VPN Detected Message

I do not have anther VPN.
Why is Surfshark giving this message?
The only way to get out of it is to do a force stop and restart Surfshark.
Any body have any suggestions?
This pop up is messing with my TIVImate recordings.

Sometimes there are apps that have a built in VPN. Some internet browsers for example. So I would check all your apps to see if that maybe the case.

I have had weird popups recently mainly to do with not having the latest SS update. This has been only occurring on one device so I opted to download the latest SS apk and update which resolved the glitchy app. I’m assuming you cleared SS’s cache as the first step. In my experience, Techdoctor’s App killer and Cache Cleaner have resolved a lot of unresolved issues in the past and you may want to add these apps to your App collection. Good luck!

I had several problems with surfshark in the past months telling me I had another VPN when I did not. I’ve also had surfshark disconnect my internet and I’d have to connect and disconnect surfshark several times to get that cleared up. It’s a constant problem I have to do it about every 2-3 weeks. They have helped me by changing my DNS protocols and other items but still I have issues every now and then. I guess it just comes with streaming.

What is the lattest version of Surfshark?
I have 3.0.1.2 on a nvida shield and 5.0.0 on a windows 11 laptop,

Both say I am using the lattest version.

My Shield would not update SS to the latest. I had to remove and reinstall again to get the 3. version. The ONN device updated with no issues. Strange stuff to say the least.

Some ad-blockers will register as a vpn.

Yup, Blockada does this.

have you looked in settings>>>Network and Internet>>>VPN? Does it show anything there?

Some VPN tools make more than one VPN. So even surfshark could have two vpns which interfere. Uninstall and reinstall.
