You can allow apps and browsers through surfshark in settings thats what i do and means you dont need to turn surfshark of
Please try this work-around for this issue…
Depending on the version of Surfshark you have, one of these settings might help with this issue:
-
Use the “Bypass VPN” setting and add the “Monitor Dot” app to the list so that the app will bypass the VPN and hopefully can then connect to my website successfully.
-
Use the “Bypass List” setting to add my website “MonitorDot.com” to the “Bypass” list, so the VPN won’t block the app from connecting to the website anymore.
So, please try the setting that your version of surfshark supports and and reply to this post to let me know if it fixes the issue.
In my case it was an IPTV app whose services I use (and will probably stop using when my subscription is up). In my lengthy research I read several places that these apps do it frequently. It brings in extra money.
Ad blocker is not the issue. The ip’s are the issue.
I’m back to trying this after reading this thread, Tried D/L Code 5105331 and got “Name Not Resolved” error. Did I miss how we’re supposed to do this? I’ll go to the TP Toolbox version and try with the Bypass suggestions on SS. Thank you.
I went to Monitor Dot home page and got it downloaded and running. I added it to BYPASS VPN so we shall see later if it helped with the home screen pop up and update error. Thanks everyone for helping.
Hi, did the bypass fix the issue with Monitor Dot?
Yes, my DOT works perfectly. It does always open on the welcome screen when I boot up my ONN box and sits there but I just hit the home button twice and it goes right to my projectivy home screen. Thanks so much for your hard work on the DOT.
Thank you for that update ![]()
