Surfshark Alternative ID?

FIrst post here… I was trying to see if there was any feedback on what Troy recomends with Startmail for security and creating accounts vs using the Alternative ID feature with Surfshark since that VPN has been recommended. Has anyone used Alternative ID or if Troy sees this post maybe your thoughts on it. Thank you @TROYPOINT

just used it myself, seems to work fine so far - no need for an alternative email account.

Would you use this for subscriptions in place of real name and info and email address?

Worked for me for a trakd account. I figured I have nothing to lose and tried it as an experiment.

so this would work better than startmail @leftyaxe ?? would provide alias for sign ups and making up info for personal info? I have always just used my real info and emails but trying to follow Troy’s advise on all these things Just like this insider board. Not sure if I can change my profile name to something other than my real name. It may not matter for this site.

check the alternative id tutorial on ss’s website. you use an alternative address and email but the emails are ported to your regular email you use in ss. All I am saying is it worked in my case - good luck.

The alt id offered by Surfshark seems great however, unfortunately, you cannot use it to sign up for real-debrid. I tried all of their available domains and real-debrid would not accept any of them. I chatted with ss and they ultimatley submitted a ticket on my behalf and I just received an email from ss stating that, “We have received an answer from our technical team, and it seems that you will not be able to use an alternative e-mail for that particular website”.

Hey guys, maybe I’m not getting this???
I created an alternative ID Email in SS.
I have two email accounts. One that is registered with SS and another personal email.
I sent several emails from my personal acct. to the alternative email address that I set up in SS.
I expected them to arrive in my email acct. that is listed in SS, but they never arrived and I never got any notices that they were undelivered. Where did they go???
Please Advise
