Surf shark settings

I’m about to subscribe to Surf Shark and was wondering if there are any settings that I need to change or do I just need to leave everything to the default settings?

I have been a subscriber to Surfshark for a couple years now, but I am requesting Troypoint to ask Surfshark to build in the functionality for: 1) RAM booster 2) Junk cleaner These functionalities are free with the other reputable antivirus apps such as Avast/AVG. Because I was informed by Surfshark that they do NOT recommend having other antivirus along with Surfshark. It will be safer for having the vpn to do that vs installing some unknown builder’s app. I have requested Surfshark for the functionalities, but because I am just a nobody, it’s going nowhere. But coming from Troypoint will make a big difference.

At first leave the settings as is. Just go into the VPN settings and turn on the Killswitch so it won’t continue to stream if the VPN drops. Then if you are having an issue streaming try switching to different protocols in the settings to see what works (I believe the default is WireGuard). For me WireGuard works fine but in the past I’ve had to change it to OpenVPN with a couple of apps

Seems to be big differences in speed too when choosing servers. Start by choosing a server close to you where the circle is half full or less. Someone recently educated me that the circle shows how full (how much use that server is getting), whereas I previously had misinterpreted it to mean how much capacity that server had (full circle meant lot’s of capacity – wrong). Also, the OpenVPN has a built in “stealth mode” …whatever that means, but it sounds good. But experimenting is your friend. Basically get the most speed you can. And I also found that the web cleaner in SS can cause problems with some apps.
