Strong not as ... strong during NFL opener

This shouldn’t be happening. If it was a trend, we’d see multiple posts.

Have a look at Troy’s article on buffering and check your setup. Streaming unverified services require a deft touch. Hoping you get and maintain a stable Strong.

Thank you Steve. Occasionally on these “higher demand” presentations, you get some high demand overload issues. I switched to a different service to compare and it was flawless on that service. I didn’t care as much about the event itself but was curious how Strong would do.

I could have changed VPN servers to one in Europe but I didn’t think of it.

I had college football on for hours all morning and it was perfect. Had the buffering occurred on a critical game, in a critical moment, I would have “melted down”!

It’s all good, I love Amber and may tinker with my player as I use XCIPTV now (which I really like). I’ll look through TP’s article and see what else might be happening.

I didn’t mean for this to sound like I have Strong issues all the time because I don’t. If I get buffering, it’s usually just that 1-2 second blip that resolves itself and they are rare.

Appreciate you all.

Buffering can be tough to track down. While I had no buffering on Sat, my uncle had some minor buffering with the same service. Sometimes I can see buffering in one room and not the other (on the same channel). Factors not only include the service, but your ISP and whether it’s policies prompt you to have to run a VPN, your internet connection to the house and to the streaming box (when possible, wired is always better), what kind of streaming box you use (i.e. older Fire Stick, new Onn 4K Plus, Shield, your phone, etc.), and how many devices are pulling on your network at the same time.

I recently updated my whole house to 2.5Gb and have Ethernet to all my TVs using a Ethernet to USB 2 adapters and that’s made a huge difference. I’m hitting a full and steady 1Gb to all my PCs and 400-500 to all my TVs using Onn 4K Plus or Pros, and I don’t see much buffering on Lemo or Strong - which is why the frequent blips that first NFL game were surprising.

Yep, this is why I always tell people you can’t go by reviews and testimonials. There are just too many factors involved, even though it is tech based there is still VooDoo involved in streaming.

You can try all of the “should fix it” ideas but sometimes the gremlins are just too strong.

Hopefully it was just an ISP glitch and won’t resurface.

Strong 8K is terrific and I hope it works for years to come.

It is and I think it will, they are far removed from the usual resellers that normally get taken down. It would take a pretty strong push to get to them. My bigger worry is Amber retiring, dealing with her is so much nicer than most customer service these days including Fortune 500 companies.

Same issues here all day. Tried every channel RedZone would not work.

Did you try different server locations. Everything worked like a dream for me, but then I switch servers to one close to where it’s broadcast from, when I switch games.

I was disappointed that I couldn’t find any 60FPS RedZone feeds in Strong. Mega didn’t have any either.

Switch server locations on VPN or Strong servers? I don’t use a VPN most of the time. And Strong doesn’t have multiple ones (as far as I know) like some others. They literally generate the server address when you create the account. So it’s always random, though I’m sure it points to something static that they’ll never reveal if they’re smart.

I service I use has two redzone channels 60FPS FHD

Switch VPN locations. It isn’t only about anonymity and security. Lets say you live in Michigan and want to watch a sporting event in florida but between you and your internet route there is a huge ice storm and infrastructure is compromised, just how do you get around that? Simple, change your VPN server location in say Houstan Texas to get around the storm and pick up the feed. You never actually ever go directly to any site you want to, there are “hops” and there could be 10 or more hops just to get from Michigan to Florida, any one of which could be compromised or in the case of a huge event have servers that have no open slots and thus you get buffering. So unless you have equipment that permits you to switch your route you’re pretty much out of luck.

This is exactly what you should do, as @Miki suggested. Changing your VPN server will almost always correct buffering issues with such services. Sometimes, even staying in the same city location but switching our location servers can correct connection inefficiency.

Many vpn users just get hung up sticking with their “tried and true” (but no location is ever always true) and come across latency issues now and then. This can easily be affected by one or more hips where latency within these hops are pinging high. This can come from weather issues, ISP hardware issues, dns issues, etc.

You can run a simple tracert at home on your computer (in command prompt) and you can see how many hops between one IP location to the next. In many cases, it’s more than 10 - and all it takes is 1 or 2 of those hops to be inefficient to throw a wrench in the whole thing = lag = buffering.

Experiment with different locations. My brother in law did the exact some thing and after 3 city locations, lag was gone and perfect, no buffer evening after that.

Is it the Strong service?

No it is another service

Is strong 8k available again from amber baby? Has anyone signed up very recently?

This was in a different thread…

For those who need other ways to contact Amberbaby - she is on Signal and Telegram apps - same contact number +86 13973822150

She will reply, just wait because of time difference, it takes a little time.

Sadly a complaint on Alibaba is the reason for her account to be suspended.

Yes a few have signed up since she temporarily disabled her Alibaba store.

I had a couple times but not bad at all for 30 something a year.

I love Strong. It has been the best I’ve ever used. I was so used to the buffering on other services that I thought that was how they worked. Plus, it has been the cheapest. So wherever they source this service from, it works great :+1:t6:. I just hope it sticks around for the entire year.
