Iām just counting my lucky stars I took the advice a while back of using ADBlink to shut out Amazonās ability to āupdate" my Fire devices. Of course, that path has been closed, so itās too late if you didnāt do it when Troy advised it.
I was seriously considering ditching Fire, but now we hear rumblings of Google following the same path, which will neuter items like the ONN Box. The higher end boxes will be fine, but at least for now, my Fire devices will remain useful. Just checked, and so far, Stremio works just fine with no error dialog.
Those rumbles about google are overblown and highly exaggerated. Google rolled back their initial news release and modified it completely. It now basically means weāll have to go through a multi page process which culminates in a page where we have to agree that Installing 3rd party apps is unsafe and we canāt hold Google responsible for anything negative that happens.
