I’ve been a longtime Kodi guy and wanted to try Stremio after recent articles.
I LOVE that I only need to setup once and it all transfers to other devices!
My favorite parts of Kodi TV shows was Trakt integration, so I know which episode Im on. I also loved that I could look at trending movies or tending tv shows from trakt or imdb.
I installed Stremio addons from the bootstrap tutorial. There is a trending movies and TV shows, but no way those are the actual movies/shows trending. It’s a very different list than the Crew/Umbrella trending lists.
Im guessing im doing something wrong, but not too familiar with Stremio yet.
I agree that Trakt integration works much better in Kodi given the various categories such as watch and collection lists. These lists are very easy to manage and keeps my preferred shows together.
I also prefer the way the streams are presented in Kodi. I find it much easier to view the listing which is presented in a larger vertical list and for some reason the streams load up much faster.
I am new to Stremio and hopefully I will find ways to create librairies similar to those I use in Kodi.
Stremio is every bit as easy. It’s just you’ve learned how to use Kodi. So how you need to learn how to use Stremio and trakt integration in Stremio is no different, you just need to learn how. I am sending you a PM with a link that will help if you want to learn. If not that’s fine.
Yes, I’d love to learn. That’s why I asked the questions. I love how Stremio is only a one time setup and goes to all other devices.
Can you post here instead of DM so others can learn also? That will prevent duplicate questions in the future too? I tried the method via scribbling, but it didn’t work.
I am also wanting to try out the Stremio app, but when watching the TroyPoint how to video, and coming to the step to click on the Bootstrapper link, I keep getting an error that will not open the link. I am not sure if my firewall is blocking this link (Norton AntiVirus). Any help is needed. Thanks.
Trakt scrobbling is a waste of time IMHO. Anything in my library automatically marks what I’ve watched and any new episodes are shown on the posters. Why use trakt?
This is just not True. Been watching Trakt with KODI for several years. Though Stremio might mark your shows as watched it is not anywhere near as robust as what Trakt functionality can offer. especially if you have tried Trakt Premium. I won’t get into the details as I don’t want to derail this topic. Happy New Years Miki!
Oh I wasn’t referring too across every conceivable app that Trakt integrates with. I was referring to Stremio all by itself. Imho Trakt does not add anything or give any advantage while using Stremio which does precisely as I stated, marks all my episodes and lets me know when new episodes have been released. Don’t need anything more than that thank you. Especially not another added expense.

I’m in the same boat reisb4. I downloaded Stremio, but I can’t seem to add any addons. I’ll stick to good-old Kodi for the time being. I’m obviously doing something wrong, but I can’t figure out what at the moment.
