Not a Stremio user but Geez I sure hope KODI doesn’t go down this road
I will keep the free version of stremio. Don’t use it much and I do like it as a backup. I do pay for Weyd which is my primary streaming app
I don’t see how Kodi itself would become something other than FOSS. I could see how a fork of Kodi along with an installed ‘premium add-on or build could’.
I have personally donated a little bit here and there to developers like those doing the Nuvio project and would rather see that sort of option using say PP or cash app, rather than a mandatory yearly payment, although lifetime 1 time payment may be something I could get behind. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

What is FOSS? Well the way I see it as long as you have these unpaid Hobbyists (Addon Devs) around it will probably always be Free. Lot’s of people stay away from KODI saying how hard it is to use/maintain.
As someone who has used it for a decade I’ll say it’s extremely easy now compared to the early days. Anyway I digress 
Absolutely Right! Well said Troy. I didn’t come here looking for a “handout”, just a fair and reasonable price for quality streaming.
For those seeking FREE viewing, investigate using an antennae. The devs are the real front line defenders against the greed of content producers and the billionaire owners of media.
