I have and have used Stremio for years, precisely because on the Firestick it’s far more dependable and provides way more links, and is way safer than Kodi. How many addons have you installed?
Ok, I think I have it.
Torrentio links are appearing on the ONN box and the Linux machine.
Thanks for your help Miki😌
IMO, the TP guide needs to be redone.
The ‘clear data’ step needs to be eliminated.
I found that I needed to sign up for an account in order for Torrentio to appear on both the computer and the ONN box.
Finally, make it blatant that installing Stremio on a computer is easier…and in my case, completely necessary.
Ya many find installing it on a computer is the easiest method. Now remember, any device that Stremio is installed on you can log into and all your settings and configuration are there for you. You only need to set up your account once and you can use it on any device without configuring again, and use it. I wish I’d have known you didn’t sign up as that explains all your issues, you have to sign up to use your addons.
I added all the usual suspects…we probably should not mention them aloud.
AFA safety, I wouldn’t think there’s much difference.
Well,
The TP guide that’s linked up here says to sign in as a guest, which I found is wrong via trial and error.
Like I said, that guide basically doesn’t work if you want to integrate a debrid service.
I have no idea why you cant enter info on your browser, try a different browser, i was able to add everything just fine on 3 different devices. Sign up for stremio much easier.
Stremio is not safer than kodi, direct torrents on stremio can cause instant flag without a vpn
I add every addon and catalogue for Movies and TV Series. I don’t do cartoons, anime, sports or porn in the app. Glad you got it worked out.
Yes it is much safer than kodi as addons are not directly installed on your device and so can’t be affected by malicious code. Not only that but kodi scrapes torrent links and provides them as does RD.
If you are using rd, kodi scrspes available rd links from there server which is protected by a internal encryption check. Stremio pulls torrents directly qnd plays them, it decrypts them as it plays directly which means it downloads them a bit which is not as safe, its open ended. The addons my not be downloaded to your device but the torrents are sighly and as they are direct and not from a server farm you have a higher chance of issues which is why you absolutely need a vpn. At least with rd links if your vpn isnt on or something you have a internal https encryption.
I think maybe we’re talking different things.
Kodi is an application that allows streaming from various sources based on local add-ons. It’s important to note “local add-ons” from this, because Stremio is a similar application that streams from various sources based on remote add-ons, Stremio has no concept of local add-ons. What does this all mean? It means Kodi’s add-ons extract these streaming sources using your computer, while Stremio extracts these streaming sources using web servers across the internet, that simply serve the end results to the users.
Remote add-ons are safer, they cannot intervene with your computer in any way. But local add-ons are more powerful, mostly because they are harder to be stopped, can use better extractors to get streams and can’t have server issues. Remote add-ons also have other pros though, for example, Stremio also has a Web Client, that does not require anything installed and will work with all add-ons that don’t use torrents.
As you know, imho a vpn absolutely should be used even with Kodi.
Amen about the VPN…
Now for test driving:
When I select a TV show on the Android box, the title blinks & blinks & blinks. Move on to the next link the same. After selecting the 4th link, the program plays…then freezes about half-way through.
Went through selecting several more links which don’t work, found another that works, but only 480p.
For giggles, I tried the same episode with my computer. first link I selected loaded right up and played half-way through then the picture froze and blinked off &on. A second link worked flawlessly.
In short, so far I can see keeping this on my computer, but AFA the ONN box,so far KOdi addons work much better.
I’ll try the Firestick later today.
Ya I can’t speak to anything but the stick. Have you enabled every addon for Movies? Also watch for the little blue person in your links and see how many ppl are on the same source as you, anything less than 10 it may not be the best. I am in Mexico so the infrastructure sucks but I use ProtonVPN and connect through servers in Dallas.
Yes I did…and the links I selected had the disembodied head showing plenty of sources. Like I said, the Stremio on the linux computer works well so far. It hasn’t on the ONN device.
You should seriously read about pimp my stremio for linux. I think you’ll find a much better and enjoyable experience.
I will try PMS later.
My main goal was to get Stremio up working with the ONN & Firestick.
And I tried again getting a working link with the ONN just now…none of the links work. The title just blinks & blinks whether the users are more than 100 or less than 10. Same thing.
I have no idea about ONN. This is the first I’ve heard of any issues with Stremio. So I’d have to get an Onn box and make sure to install the proper version of Stremio.
(Stremio - All You Can Watch)
Well I did get Stremio working on the Firestick thanks to you Miki.
I’m pretty sure that there is a compatibility issue using the app that DL’s through the RAI with the ONN box. The Google Play Store doesn’t show a version compatible with the ONN.
Thank-you again Miki!
You are very welcome. Sorry I don’t have any answers for the Onn.
