Should the VPN be on or Off

Please advise - should the VPN be on or off when pairing Real Debrid with Kodi add ons like the crew or the oath. I recall a video Troy put out a while back stating VPN should be off but recently I seen a video stating make sure VPN is on. Thank you.

I did mine with the VPN active.

I also left mine on??? I guess it depends on the vpn

On my older version of Kodi 18… always of, on later versions eg 19.4 always on :smiley::+1:
By the way before I used IPVanish
Now I’m using NordVpn

Actually the video stated to turn the VPN off so Real Debrid would not think you were sharing the account. That was from way back so maybe things are different. Thanks for the reply.

I think the vpn just has to be off when signing up for an account.

I’ve done it with VPN on and off and never had any issues.

RD on its own private tunnel. No need for VPN. Nice added security but not needed. Use when i do old style torrent though.
