hey guys just picked up a new 77" Samsung oled S89C tv for the super bowl could not pass up the price at best buy a 3600.00 tv for just 1799.99 awesome picture still calibrating settings on tv so i was wondering is there away to set shield screen saver to come on in 2 minutes or less when something is paused on tv just worried about burn in on screen thanks
Looks like the lowest time you can go is 5 minutes. I wouldn’t worry so much about burn-in on these newer TVs. They pretty much eradicated that issue. Besides, I would take quite a long time to get burn-in even on older model TVs.
Btw, I have mine set at 15 minutes.
Modern OLED panels have baked in preventive features that makes burn in much less prevalent (e.g. Pixel shift, pixel wash, etc.). Early gen oled panels were far more worrysome.
I don’t much about this app but here is a TDUK tutorial and a couple of links you can research. Apparently, you can adjust your screensaver times down to 1 minute.
It’s called “Screensaver Manager”. TDUK uses the Areial Screensaver app. Which is very good and works well on a Shield, but you can use the stock screensavers or any other screensaver app that is compatible with your device.
This video walks you through how to use the TDUK Screensaver Manager.
