The night stalker movie, not the tv series, with Kolchak.
JAWS?
I got kicked out of that movie back in 1976.
I cheered for the shark.
I been screwing Hollywood ever since.
Exorcist ( uncut ) did it for me .
Barbie (2023)
How could you say that about any movie with Margo in it?
There have been many movies that I’ve avoided over the years but the movie Magic(Anthony Hopkins, Ann-Margret) raised the hair on the back of my neck. Anything with talking puppets gives me the creeps.
Ring was also one that I couldn’t finish. But the one that really got to me was Saw. My daughter was in France, for 6 months, on a study abroad. Then Saw came out. I, of course, chose not to watch it. These days I tend not to watch anything with horror in the description. Although, maybe not horror so much but the Black Mirror series can really creep me out. But I just couldn’t stop watching them.
Oh, and a movie that has given me several nightmares was Cujo.
Mama by Guillermo Del Toro
Exorcist 1973
To add to my post from last year, The Thing From Another World (1951). I watched it every night on NY’s channel 9 Million Dollar Movie. (Anyone remember that?) Scary even today. The remake - gory? Yes. Scary? Meh. The original’s credits list Christian Nyby as the director. Nyby’s other credits include Gilligan’s Island episodes. No way did Nyby have this much talent. The producer was Howard Hawks, and The Thing has his fingerprints all over it. Enough history.
An old one but the one that has lasted many years with me is “The Birds”. I laughed at monster movies, but this one made me wary of birds for 60+ years.
We’re gonna need a bigger boat!
I found that to be the least scary movie I had ever seen. (The Shining).
Well what is your scariest movie @sparry?
Children of the corn
Same here that gave me nightmares for years as a child.
Mama / Psycho
the original "predator " freaked me out but always jaws was my first…that freakin creepy music playing when the shark was around? still can’t stand that…lol
Watch The predator movie “Prey”!
How about Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds” in black and white.
Interesting. I’ve never seen it in black and white. Do you just turn down the color or is there a version of it out there?
