RockTek G2 ... new to me

Are you using ARC or eARC port?

HDMI 1 says E/ARC. Its like the second the hdmi cord gets plugged in from soundbar the screen flickers off and on and volume bar shows up and off repeat on screen. So weird

Thinking its the fire TV software not liking the CEC HDMI setup. It works perfectly fine with the CEC HDMI setup on the Insignia Roku TV on my other bedroom.

Sent a email over to Rocktek support and copied all this info for them to see.

Got folders added to external usb stick. Now I can’t set the folder path in Tivimate app. Says failed. Is it Android 11 problem? Doesn’t show system picker like the shield pro does.

Did you get your issues figured out, or are you still troubleshooting?

not sure which file manager youve tried but here’s a LINK to es file manager.

Off the wall question on the RT-G2 box. My normal Tivimate backup/restore method on all my devices is saving the main Tivimate file on a cloud service, and accessing that cloud through File Explorer. I copy it into the main internal storage on the box, and just like the top picture shows (this pic on a KM6), it pops up when I go to Restore the file in Tivimate settings. On the RT-G2 box (like the bottom picture shows), I do the same but the Tivimate settings won’t “see” the same file like my other boxes. Any ideas why? It doesn’t matter if I save it in any of those folders either, it still won’t “see” it for me to use it for the backup. Middle picture (on the RT-G2) shows I have the file in there.

Same goes for me on the Shield. I do a backup to downloader but TiViMate doesn’t show the file. I have to use my x-plore to find it and use it. The Max sees it though.

a couple options for you to think through without me trying to setup the box I cant see
I notice smb options on that screen. SMB is a sharing protocol you might consider as its pretty much how I do all my local sharing and not all boxes make smb easy but with it already listed it should be a cake walk. To better share the lan option is within xplore itself. Make sure lan is visible in settings and then you can setup local sharing. Also within the shield settings under storage you will find other sharing settings including network storage settings.

I never even noticed my Shield did it as well. I always use the m3u files on my Shield, and then save the backup through the Shield for my other boxes. Hmmm…now I’m really curious why.

You have piqued my curiosity, Ron. I am going to do some research on it and see if there are tutorials of how to set it up. Sounds like it would be even easier for a houseful of devices than even the Cloud method.

I was thinking it was a permission thing but could not find any setting that made it visible. As mentionrd ghd FireTV OS doesn’t do it. I tried for quite some time to reason it out but nada.

All of my other devices do see it. KM6’s, Onn boxes, Tivo stream…

Very strange. I swear it has to be some setting but I’m stymied.

many peeps overlook the lan function of xplore. The shield itself is very capable of sharing with the built in settings. Anytime I see a box with smb I think cool, this will be easy. Many android boxes are locked down making it difficult to setup. Some time back Buzztv had an update with smb included. …makes things much simpler to do.

I can’t figure the SMB server out. No matter what I do, I apparently am not putting the right credentials in to be able to access a shared folder in my home server. Seems simple, but now I’m frustrated lol. Maybe I’ll try it again another time. Hard to find good instructions.

Is your Rock Tek still performing okay? I just got one last week, started out a little shaky, but it’s all straightened out. So far I’m enjoying it. Almost sent it back, but glad I didn’t. It currently is replacing one of my Shields. I’m pretty impressed. Lots of RAM and storage
