Remote Problem with X88PRO13

I have a X88PRO13 that runs Android 13. It came with a remote that doesn’t have the voice function. I was able to pair my FireTV Stick 4k remote but I cant get the remote to work with my sideloaded apps such as BeeTV, Cinema, Film+, TeaTV & Nova. When I press the Voice button it opens the Google Assistant. I tried disabling Google Assistant but it still won’t work within my sideloaded apps. I also tried a usb keyboard that has a mouse and a voice function.
Does anyone know of a way to get the voice remote to work in the sideloaded apps?

Never used that box but is it possible it doesnt support voice?

I was just researching this. From what I’ve read the remote has a voice button and the unit supports voice search. I’m trying to find a manual to see if there is a setting to turn voice search on/off. No luck so far.
Lol. Next thing I do is go to ali express and check their specs and about the 5 th thing listed : Voice assistant> NO.
I found the manual. Absolutely no reference to voice contrl anywhere, so I guess that answers that.

Hello @markcoronado I’ve never had good luck with voice assistant on the generic Android Boxes running stock Android. It seems that they are missing some sort of certification from Google to do this properly. I had same problem in the $28 Android Box video that I just did. Voice assistant works for basic things but doesn’t work when searching within applications.

Thanks to all that replied.
How can I tell if an Android Box is running stock Android or a version that will allow the voice remote to work within apps?

What is stock Android? Everything you need to know about the core OS

You want to to say Android TV or Google TV for operating system, not just Android.

We go through all of that in the following article.

Thanks to all for your very useful information.

The X88pro13 is running Android TV OS version 13. I hope you do a review on it eventually.

While looking at this box and the T95 Troy gave his opinion on I came across an X88 pro13 with Android TV OS 13, 4 gigs of ram and 32 gigs of storage for under $30 on Amazon. Since it had the Android TV OS I decided to give it a try. So far it has been working well. Has anyone else tried this one?
