Hey guys, I’m not exactly sure how to lable this but I’d like to know if there is a way to remotely access the nvidia shield and the onn box. I bought a friend an onn box and set it up for her and I would like to be able to access it to teach her more on it as far as updating apps and such but she lives in Florida and i live in Pennsylvania. I see techdoctoruk has a video of using anydesk for it but from the comments in the youtube video it doesn’t work like it did 3 years ago when the video was made.
I tried searching here but not sure what terms to search as i keep getting results about remote controls or random shield topics. I appreciate any help you guys can give me. Thank you ahead of time.
How tech savy are you and are you willing to spend the time to learn, or do you just need an install and use type of app like TeamViewer or AnyDesk. The following os doable but a lot of work. I haven’t been able to find a simple way for the shield yet.
Ill give this a read and see if i can figure it out. I appreciate the help
I use to use TeamViewer and it seems there is some success with using it to remote access a Shield but seems some functions don’t work. Also Overseer has had some success. I spent a couple of hours reading up on this but could not find a simple way of doing it. A shame cause it is a good idea and worth doing IMHO.
Yeah, it would be a great way to teach people how to do things by walking them through everything being able to show them exactly what im talking about. Sounds like gibberish to some people lol
scrcpy is for local (lan) network
Software called vysor let’s you connect remotely from any streaming devices using IP address problem is the person you’re helping has to be tech savvy enough to use the software on their end to connect from a PC or laptop first then email or text you a share code that you then use in the vysor software to connect on your end then you will be able to control from your PC or laptop best and most efficient way I’ve seen of doing this but it’s been awhile since I played around with it because I could never successfully get the person I’m helping through the connection part so they could send the share code to connect on my end but I have experimented with my own devices and works perfectly but if the person isn’t tech savvy it’ll be almost impossible unfortunately
