Reddit administrators are warning subreddit moderators to ban anyone discussing IPTV services or face community shutdowns. The platform recently removed multiple IPTV-related subreddits and threatens more action. However, Reddit’s enforcement shows massive hypocrisy. A recent thread from the /OnnStreamingTV community highlighted this issue of Reddit removing/banning all subs related to IPTV. OnnStreamingTV Warning Thread This…
Its funny because they did take down a bunch of IPTV subs, but the massive /Piracy subreddit remains intact.
With all the misinformation there I personally don’t think it’s a bad idea to shut down their IPTV posts and forums.
They took down the best one called iptvgroupbuy which was really helpful and didn’t allow shady sellers promoting their overpriced services.
But all the information was backed up and is now operating on another platform.
The piracy subreddit has 2.2 million users and as mentioned doesn’t seem affected lol.
But they did ban any subreddits with iptv in the title so did target that and would have kept the share holders and copyright holders happy.
Let’s not forget that they are the important one in all this lol
Could you direct me to the new platform?
It’s not currently open to new members for now.
If it sound discard it hasn’t been opened to new people or anyone. I was a fan of that group since the beginning never posted much but I learned a lot. I guess they want to pick and choose who they invite which is fine but they forget the people that helped make their sub popular.
They did open a invite the other day and asked current members to invite people who they knew and trusted.
Then a couple of people plastered the invite on several subreddits.
They had to close the invite because of this. Posting the invite on the platform that banned them is out of order imo.
They did also have invites to the new platform on the their subreddit when it was active just in case the sub ever got banned, which it did but they also knew this would probably happen than not.
Rob who’s started the Reddit group with a few mods helped a lot of users with information they provided, me included. They exposed a lot of expensive renamed services and shady resellers ripping people off.
Rob had their Reddit account hacked and all of their posts removed so they left Reddit and went elsewhere.
The other mods had their accounts closed and some of them had accounts for as long as 16 years.
Then Reddit banned the subreddit for not being moderated.
They are disliked by the resellers and those who rebrand cheap service and resell it 3 to 4 times the actual price.
You can see why they are cautious.
At least you learned some helpful information as did thousands of others including myself and it was all free.
I thought all of the knowledgeable people left reddit long ago.
Definitely not, app and add-on developers are active on Reddit amongst very knowledgeable users covering many different subjects.
I appreciated their mission but never saw an open invite. I guess you have to “know someone”.
