Recording with NVIDIA SHIELD

I’m not too sure where to post this question so I’ll try here and hopefully it will fall into the correct location. I’m attempting to completely “cut the cord”. Currently, I have a Nvidia Shield Pro that I use for mostly Netflix, Prime and Syncler. I want to setup a Plex Server and Tivimate for scheduling/Recording. With that said, I’m gonna need a bunch of storage.

Is it possible to connect a 4TB External Drive to the Nvidia Shield Pro for this purpose?

You can easily turn your Shield TV Pro into a local media machine for all your files with the right external drive. Depending on what you wish to store, pick from a desktop drive with terabytes of storage to a portable SSD that can remain tucked away behind the Shield TV Pro. No matter your need, here are all the best external drives for your streaming box.

When the Shield Pro was my daily driver, I used the Samsung SSD and formatted it 80/20. 80% for “external” storage and 20%. for internal storage. Loved it. Now just collecting dust though.

Thank you, Mike! Have a great weekend…

Thank you, Miki. Curious, when you say it’s “collecting dust now”, how do you record these days?

I don’t record, but should I need to my Buzz P6L records with ease.

I knew little about BuzzTV but just watch a couple of YouTube videos and a bunch of articles. Looks like I’ll be holding on to my Nvidia SHIELD Pro for a long time! Thanks for the info…

If I find a friend who wants my Shield Pro I’ll return it to factory and give it away. This Buzz P6L with an SK1 for backup is plenty enough for me. My Shield Pro served me well, now I have something better. Love options.
