Real Debrid file sizes

Here is something I find confusing. When carrying out a search for a specific file -typically a TV series episode. RD generally finds several links for each resolution such as 1080p 720p 480p etc. For each of the resolutions found RD lists a variety of different file sizes. e.g. for 1080p this can vary from 3,5GB down to 500MB
It is easy to understand that the higher the resolution the bigger the files size would be but if the resolution is the same what could be the explanation for the huge difference in the files sizes.

As @Miki stated, the method of compressions codec used, with varying bitrates can significantly affect the file size.

Also different files sources will have varying audio sources embedded. DTS tracks and any lossless audio codecs are high bitrate and also greatly impact file size. Dolby codecs can vary between Atmos tracks and DD+.

Generally source files that don’t incorporate any surround track and heavy video compression will produce the smallest file sizes. These can be very helpful for travel size downloads where premium resolution and audio is needed.

Depending on your ISP speeds, the smaller size sources can result in a better streaming experience.
