Real Debrid 4K Downloads

I stream movies using one of several Apps or Kodi Addons to Real Debrid for movies. I download them direct from Real Debrid to my desktop then copy them to a Rufus formatted 128K USB Drive then move it to my Firestick 4K and play them using VLC. Is there a way to download a movie file larger than 4G to the USB Drive? Formatted as a FAT32 the size limit is 4G. I try anything else other than FAT32 and I can’t play them. What am I missing here?

Why in the world are you doing it this way? Is it because your internet connection isn’t fast enough to stream it without buffering? You can find some 4K streams with lower file sizes surprisingly. Actually with certain add-ons like Umbrella, you can limit the file sizes in your search results. You can also try using a wizard from a repository (the crew for example) and go through the settings to change your buffer size.

If you truly do need to download them and transfer like this then the issue is because your flash drive is formatted as FAT32. Try reformatting to exFAT or NTFS with a full format, not a quick format. And don’t let the device format it as internal storage in this instance. VLC shouldn’t have any issues playing the files in either format.

Thanks for the help, I stream online when at home no problem, but I am on the road a lot and most internet and hotels are bad or they try to make it difficult to hookup, so I throw some movies on the stick to show. I also live in a condo and show a movie in the theater room several times a month and the internet there is always questionable.

I tried switching to the exFAT and I can put the file on the drive, but VLC did not find that, I will try the NTFS with a full format. appreciate the help.

Try playing it with Kodi and see if that works. If you have a file explorer you should be able to pick what app opens the file.
