I received this email this morning. It’s about a new video player coming from OpenSubtitles that is supposed to use AI to automatically find the right subtitles for you. Something to keep an eye out for if you have trouble finding subtitles.
I received a link in my email to join the wait-list that is set to my email address. If you want to join the wait-list, you would have to check their site to see how to do so.
So I joined the wait-list, even though by now I pretty much know all about finding subtitles. I will let you all know more details when I hear about them.

Meet Ray. The world’s first AI media player by OpenSubtitles
Hi Mgb123,
You know the routine. Find a video. Search for subtitles. Download. Wrong version. Try again. Finally get one that syncs. Repeat tomorrow.
We built Ray to end that cycle permanently.
Trained on our entire subtitle database, Ray gives you the library you already rely on — built directly into the player. Press play on any video. Subtitles appear in seconds.
No searching. No downloading. No syncing. Completely automatic.
What Ray does:
Scans our database to find and download the exact human subtitle that perfectly syncs to your video — or uses AI to generate one from scratch if no match is found
One-click translation into 200+ languages
AI dubbing — foreign films in your language with matched voices
Extract hardcoded subtitles burned into video
Video restoration — upscale to 4K, colorize, stabilize
Local & Cloud AI modes — run completely offline using your device’s hardware, or use our high-speed cloud servers
Works on Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, Smart TVs, PS5, Xbox
Launching on Kickstarter Soon
Join the waitlist now and secure your early bird pricing — the absolute lowest price we will ever offer. Limited slots available.
We built this for people exactly like you. See you on launch day.
