Question to everyone in the community!

I have made alot of shortcut topics to help everyone get access to the info posted on the main site. Trying to keep it organized to help everyone see it. Is there anything that should be added? Is there more guides or tutorials you feel need to be added into those topics for easier access? I was going to overhaul them and make it into one pinned topic, merging kodi links with firestick/android short cuts. Kinda like a long list of helpful stuff from all the videos and guides form the website into one pinned topic, just curious what you guys feel on it. Let me know. You guys are awesome.

not sure if tags are availiable in this forum but they would be helpful in narrowing down a topic. Just my 2 cents…and im broke now :joy:

No tagging isnt implemented as far as i know. The topics do some up in search. Great suggestion tho.

I would just like to see a system in place that prompts people to do a search before making a new post. Maybe patrons and founders can be exempt from this. I’ve seen it implemented many other places and it is very effective.

There is a system, there is something we could enable where they have to read the rules before posting and i can base it on user levels. But im not sure if we where going to do that or not. With higher traffic it may be something to look into.

I was also looking at suggestions on how you would like the pinned topics i put up to be organized, unless they are good as is.

On the mobile app the only pinned post I ever see at the top is the rules.

You actually have to go into the categories separately and you will see them. That i cant change on mobile.

I’ve been pondering your question @TP-Dracoo for a few hours and I gotta say I’m not a tech guy and I find Troypoint.com and the Insider are already super easy to navigate and understand, more information here than anywhere I’ve seen so I’d say just keep on doing whatever you’ve been doing. It’s already great. :+1:

I agree with Papa this community is already great thanks for all your efforts about the only thing I can add is some way of stopping the repeat of the same question All the time. Like you said a way to make people use the search. Other than that it’s a great place you should all be very proud of what you all have created for us all :v::grin:

Sometimes I scroll thru just to see what others are experiencing, even if I dont have any issues. Amazing what I’ve learned (and tagged for future reference). Keep up the great work, EVERYONE!!

There is a tag system however its not enabled. Not exactly sure how it functions on here. If we could tag topics or guides instead of copy and paste. I have saved everything by bookmarks which works well.

Yeah I myself am always interested in keeping up with new apps/ addons and updates across the board myself. Always up for learning a trick or two. I. On and off this forum probably 8 times a day myself and have the forum saved to my home screen . I see a couple comments on this page of people indicating it should stay the way it is. They just like to read it and learn from reading other people’s comments and suggestions and just like reading. The problem is that is the person who’s actually trying to find a solution of problem can’t. Even using your search engine it’s very difficult to find the resolution to your problem because it’s so disorganized. You need to decide if this is just going to be a chat forum or do you actually want to educate people on how to use streaming on the internet. I read the same complaint from the expert streamers that the same question gets asked too many times that’s been answered on your website. The problem is when somebody is searching for the answer, they can’t find it because even with the search engine makes you read a lot of material that has nothing to do with your question and hopefully you can find the answer somewhere to resolve it. Especially the apps category APK. OMG, that is an no ending bottomless pit discussion. I couldn’t even get to the end of it. Now since I have said that as a newbie, what you needed to develop is like a user’s manual. The user’s manual will be static unable to change except by the moderator, much like Troypoint’s website but more specific. The busiest part will be to keep up the troubleshooting chapter.

Maybe this website should have short cuts that sends the reader back to the to Troypoint.com website on subject matter they are asking about. Then if they still don’t understand they can ask on the insider. To be honest I didn’t even know there was a Troypoint.com until I did a further search engine for info. I usually just go off his emails!

CHAPTER 5 TROUBLESHOOTING. In this chapter you must ITEMIZE / CATEGORIZE every item of discussion for troubleshooting. In other words, Fire Sticks break it down into every manufacture of streaming device. You will have to list every device that there’s been problems with or discussed for troubleshooting. Anybody have a question on these devices will be placed on this list and nowhere else on the website. This will include apps computers, tvs, anything that somebody has a problem with if it’s not listed it’ll be added to the list. Subject matter for troubleshooting will be listed specifically under that subject matter in other words issues with Fire Sticks will be placed under Fire Sticks and under the manufacturer’s name in other words you’ll have one list for Amazon Fire sticks, you’ll have another list for the shield, you’ll have another list for the buzz box z5, so on and so forth etc. Same thing with apps. You will categorize app under different subject matters so anybody who has problems or troubleshooting a certain app will be listed under that app. The troubleshooting chapter will not become a forum. You will ask a question and it will be resolved by someone who has troubleshooted in the past and resolved it and they will list and be very specific of how they resolve the problem.

Now I do believe having a form or discussion amongst the experts on streaming is very healthy way of expressing themselves or learning different new ideas that is not listed on the typical user’s manual or in the troubleshooting section or somebody who just wants to try some new ideas that nobody else has tried or maybe something has come up then nobody else has dealt before but it should be new brand new ideas nothing that has been discussed in either the troubleshooting or the user’s guide. In other words if it’s a troubleshooting problem it needs to stay in the troubleshooting chapter. But if it’s a new idea on the Dynamics of streaming or how to do things differently the forum of being excellent place to discuss it.

This is a place for open discussion and is not an organized instruction manual. That’s exactly what the website is for. This place is for troubleshooting and talking about new updates and such. So a lot of it is going to be redundant. That’s the nature of the beast. If you’re looking for a step by step guide to everything about streaming, a forum is not the place to browse.

You do realize that the topics and guides are taken from the troypoint website? You fully understand the short cuts i post are from the helpful videos… the search actually does work well and does answer questions, typically people ask the same question over and over resulting in the same answer. Tje search is very easy to use, its not up to me to educate you on how to use it.

Also this is a fourm site based of the main troypoint.com website designed to inquire more info or to talk openly about things. Unfortunately alot of things fall under the same issue and watching the tutorials or reading reviews or solutions will solve it.

Also everything is categorized properly with its pwn section. Im not going to hold your hand, i will do my best to make it easy for you or to make things available.

I will not separate every android box or app separately, its really not needed at all. Its your job to watch the guides read the tutorials and use the search. Troy has made this super easy for everyone. I was merly asking if the topics or guides may need to be ajusted or condensed for easy access. I think i got my answer so i will close this.
