I keep getting a notice to update the python data base. Is this something that I need to update.

Are you still on 18? If so, you’ll have to download the newest version of Kodi and reinstall all of your addons. If you are using 19 or higher you can simply just update to 20.1
Nexus 20. I think the update says something about the movie python database . Using Fen and Umbrella not sure if they are compatible with the latest version.
Usually the message python xbm appears when the application is not compatible with the latest version of Kodi.
