Yep, that deal, sealed the deal for me. Ive had protonmail a long time and love it and in the past ive tried the free vpn but kept using surfshark and mullvad…so now all in one house. I just switched my bitwarden account over and will work on the vpn as needed. I figure this intro price is a one time shot to lock in at that price. Mail / vpn / pass / 500gb storage and as they normally do they will keep kicking in more storage as time goes by, theve always been great to work with.

I’ve been thinking about it for a while now but had so much going on for a while now. Just gonna have to carve out some time and just do it as they say

Just ran a quick test. Mullvad has always been the fastest vpn ive ever used/tried…so this impresses :+1:

Surfshark-Chicago (usually my best surfshark connection)

Proton-Atlanta ( I let proton pick the site as they claimed it was fastest at this time. I get 10 - 10gb connections)

Just had to check Dallas and they have a lot of servers there, but I would bet most if not all are virtual. There might be one there non-virtual but no way of telling.
Notice i’m connected to dallas but as usual with global frag it jumps to LA.

So, you’re not able to stack this $1 deal along with a Proton Mail Plus sub?

Proton doesn’t use virtual servers. The following from them>>

Always use dedicated hardware

Proton VPN only uses bare metal (physical) servers that we can fully control all the way down to the base operating system level. We have followed this policy in all countries.

For some reason no, but they do have a deal on the bundle. Works out for me to $7.99/month for everything. They also have the more expensive fam plan. Sorry it took so long to reply as I decided to install a new OS on my pc.

Good to know Miki. So far its blazing fast and room 2 walls away on wifi(Buzz Box) has zero issues and all is well. Ive only setup atlanta and dallas, will add a few more tomorrow.

edit…another thing ive noticed is overall proton has a better ping than the others including mullvad. :+1:

Proton has a setting that gives a speed boost. Not entirely sure how the speed up tech works but it has for me. I am on a shared 150 down line with about 8 ppl on it and I consistantly get around 90-95 down and 80 up.

If you already are paying for a proton subscription, the $1 Proton Pass subscription is not available. You can still use the free version until the trial runs out or you can cancel your subscription and then get the $1 a month one or you can up the subscription services to include ProtonPass another $6 a month. I was going to use it for backup. I have MSecure, which I like, and nordpass which I dislike more than mildly. Soon as that runs out I planned in using MSecure for primary and protonpass as backup. Now I’ll keep looking for a backup.

Proton VPN and PM are 2 great service I have Proton Unlimited all the nut’s and bolts

Hey marko1965 what did it cost you for the whole enchilada?

Yep, I now have all proton products also…except the fam package.

Miki, I think I posted it somewhere but I believe its like 7-8 bucks a month

That’s not to bad. Is that for full services amigo? Sorry I read that you do. Just not fam pack.

yep, mail, vpn, pass, just under 600gb cloud storage(goes up all the time) and calendar

Yeah I’ve been with proton for since they come on,and worked myself to a premium account for 3 years… the only problem there support is a little slow, but I have very rarely use support so far.

I’m terrible at internet security. While it seems TXRon is the king of it. The only thing I’ve really done is use a free Proton email address for Streamio. I assume the “mail” is email, the “vpn” is self evident, but what is the “pass”?

And do you ever have a problem signing up for a service using a “private” email address?
