🏴‍☠️ Proof You Can't Trust 3rd Party Streaming/IPTV Outfits

Over the years, we’ve provided TROYPOINT fans with security protocols to use when dealing with unverified 3rd party streaming/IPTV outfits. Some people take our advice but many do not. We’re now hearing from the ones who haven’t used our security protocols as they are worried what Real-Debrid is going to do with their download/streaming logs…

I often wondered if the reason I never saw a drop in real-debrid is I run it and stremio on my home server behind a vpn and then send it to my tv’s and never once detected any issues. Good point made Troy… You are responsible for your own security.

I’ve been hesitant moving from RD over to premiumize but this article just made my decision for me. Got premiumize just in case but still been using the updated umbrella addon now that it works again with real debrid but after seeing how they are threatening their users I’m going to stay away from them. Funny how they act like their service shouldn’t be used for accessing copyrighted movies and TV shows. Same BS Kodi puts out about their software. Both know darn well why they are being used. I hope everyone abandons them after these remarks to customers.

I received my refund from RD less than a week after their service stopped. I will suggest to ALL who haven’t, to contact them(RD) in email to receive your refund. As for the refund being pulled from my account NOT, didn’t happen. I’m to believe, that some of us shed rumors for attention, bullying, etc. I do enjoy the services of Premiumize so far. Hope their cost drops a bit too gain more users? Later G4t0rs ///\!

Personally, I completely disagree with those users who complained about RD. Completely!!! Who cares about a refund, for crying out loud??? It’s pennies comparing what we used to pay for a useless cable services. I didn’t ask about refund and I will not no matter what. I had PM for a few years with terrible service, useless service and when I ask for a refund, they had refused. And PM cost 3 times more than RD. And what is the problem in the first place? RD works and AD works, at least for now. Ungrateful users, those who companied and asked for a refund. $20.00 for 6 month of use and they ask for a refund??? Seriously???

I sort of agree with you. We all know the risks , but I know money is short for some of us and know folks are upset, I for one. But I will not ask them for a refund. And I especially dont want to make them angry with a hateful reply, and be threatened, like what was copy and pasted above. I just purchased 6 months in oct. I did notice on my account, under torents, there are now no links of my usage. Downloads there are. But I clear both daily. What a mess this is. But for a loss of 15 or 20 dollars for a rd account, the endless content I have watched, I cant buy a new dvd for that! Plus, im not supporting woke Hollywierd.

Well, of course everyone is upset, I am also upset but I don’t understand these refunds requests. First of all, it works for now. Second, like I said, comparing what I used to pay years ago for a cable and all premium channels that were absolutely useless and still are, what is $40.00 a year? I used to pay $160.00+ per month for a cable. A month! And to complain that all this RD fault??? I don’t care what they did or didn’t do, they have provided an extremely reliable service that all those who complained used for years and now they want those refunds??? NO, I am not able to understand that. I had a lot of issues with AD service even before they “went down” so to speak(which they didn’t, I still watch they streams on at least 3 addons) but I will not ask for a refund. And I will not go with PM. I used them for 2-3 years and I had a terrible service and when I asked for a refund, they simply refused. I wish I could personally send thanks to RD for their service but there is no email. I went to Trustpilot.com and left them 5 stars review in appreciation for thei years long reliable service.

That is good you left them a positive review. I know what you mean. I cant even imagine what this company is going through right now. Their criss cross cut paper shredders are probably going 24/7. I know, cable was terrible. In 5 years now since I cut the cord, I estimate saving over 5.5k . Thats over 10 grand in 10 years time. Ill listen to the radio before I’ll ever subscribe to any streaming service or cable.

My backup option was PM, but now after reading what you mentioned and a few others, im debating on using them. I dont know what else there is when RD is gone. Rd worked so well.

I signed up for PM. Working well for me. Like most everything in this hobby, you have to learn how to effectively use these services, as they don’t all do things the same way as they have different devs. I got the 3 yr Black Friday special and if I only get a few months out of it, then I have gotten my money’s worth and supported a Developer. Cable/Internet use to cost me over $275/mth. Not counting my phones. Huge savings. Old way about $9,900 for 3 yrs, PM $139, watching what I want Priceless.

I may check into PM . Its true some things work different for everyone. I remember some APKs never worked for me, and others praised them… I will most likely wait untill RD bites the dust. I wish PM has a free trial? 275 a month??? , geesh it sure adds up. And they call us pirates…coughs.

I agree that it’s ridiculous people are asking for a refund, if you’re in this hobby you take your losses and don’t cry when things don’t work out. But, it’s ridiculous that realdebrid is threatening people that they are gonna hand over logs to copyright holders!

Hi. First time posting, but long time reader of TroyPoint and user of Real-Debrid. I, too, agree with Zemelya… to a point. Yes, it is silly to request refunds for $20 or so… but, as Cody said, some of us have to count our pennies, like those of us who are retired seniors. For us, it’s not what we saved as much as what we spent. Having said that, if it IS true that RD is responding to users asking for refunds in the manner posted above, with threats, that is not only unacceptable and unprofessional, but totally unethical!

Will I ask for a refund? No. But if I did and they responded as they did, you’d better believe that I would be that squeaky wheel that lets EVERYONE know how they responded.

I truly believe that providers of any service or product should be treated with respect and not with the “I pay your salary” attitude that some people have. BUT, they know when they start their businesses that there will be times they need a thick skin… and must ALWAYS act & perform professionally. Threats are NOT professional.

Sorry for the soapbox, but, some things really, REALLY, get under my skin.

I was on the edge of but bi the bullet today. Did a test run and all is good. I haven’t tried subtitles yet though. I use Kodi/Seren and Cinema-stable. Also run VPN.

Ok, LAST time replying on this subject. Yes, i contacted RD when first losing my service. Simply because i knew i was paid up! In reply, they let me know what the issues were and, THEY, informed me of a refund from them. In about 2-3 days later the refund showed on my account. I’ve been using RD for as far back as 2008(just before retiring in '09). Their service will be missed as for me! I love my tv and movie shows. Now, (all new to me) premiumize, is my result to the same comfort i shared w/RD. Easy-peezie! Love it, love it!

Here is the communication link i used with real debrid;

Very kind folks. Pardon their french!

What’s all the hubbub, when you pay for a service and they STOP providing it, you HAVE every right to request a refund of unused time. Just compare it to any other service that just STOPPED. Example cheese of the month, paid for a year and they stop delivering after one month, who the hell wouldn’t want a refund. If I was a lowlife that was out to cheat people out of money, I would surely want all you folks that NEVER would ask for a refund for my customers.
