Thanks for the explanation. I, for one, am not concerned in the least. I only view the files and do not use them for profit. Who cares if they release the data to the authorities. Are the French authorities going to start prosecuting US citizens who use RD? I doubt it. I am pretty sure that people all over the world utilize RD.
The theory is that French authorities will cooperate with American authorities much quicker than those in Malaysia or South Africa not that they would come to America and kick down your door. The countries in the EU are much more aggressive against piracy than the rest of the world, so they probably would cooperate readily.
Like I stated, it doesn’t bother me, but everyone has different beliefs and risk tolerances and should make an informed decision.
I agree with all you have said. I have RD and Preiumize(the past panic with RD) and Syncler 2.
Just want to point out: With TV and movies I have had occasional surprises where Umbrella has done a better job finding useful links than Syncler. Not commenting on which is better. Just sharing
Pretty much all I use is Umbrella. Although I have found links for shows and movies I couldn’t get on Umbrella with Elementum.
I thought I was usually up to date on this stuff but apparently not. I didn’t know that RD was working. I switched to PM Nov ’24 when it looked like RD was dead. So after using PM for almost a year I’d have to say it’s not as good as what RD was. I get far less streams. While they’re usually ok many times they pull up an incorrect episode. I don’t use the cloud feature.
Is RD working just as well as it used to?
Yes it is. I have never left it, so I have nothing to compare it to. But it has been fine and brings in a lot of links for whatever I want to watch. It works great with Umbrella and Elementum.
Whether you get incorrect episodes or not is fully dependent on the app and/or addon you’re using, it’s not related to the debrid service at all, same for the number of streams.
RD is working but does not allow addons to check for cached-status through its API, meaning you can get inaccurate results (e.g something showing as cached despite not actually being cached)
I use both. Paying for RD is a pita but worth it. I do set Premiumize to 100. And RD to 99 so I receive premiumize links first
Interesting this.
I just got an ugoos am9 & have just been in the process of setting it up. I thought I’d try a couple of new apps with PM & installed Beetv & Flix (something or other) & both accepted & logged into PM. Did a test on a few things but didn’t pull up any PM links. Tried with Cinemahd & pulled loads of HQ quickly. Im assuming Rd or pm dont work well on certain apps ? although dont remember issues when I had RD. I got PM due to the RD “issues” for 2 years I think, excellent deal though.
Don’t know whether that mirrors other people’s experiences, but thought Id share.
Perhaps try a better app like Stremio and authorize PM and RD in say Torrentio or
Comet | ElfHosted or the addon of your choice. BeeTV is not exactly the best.
Yeah, Ive got Stremio, but always like a back up. Will go with cinemahd.
I honestly have never needed any backup and been using Stremio for years. Always plays the sources my add-ons find with the internal exoplayer. The best part is the ability to configure addons to get only what you want and eliminate the trash. Things like setting resolution choices, vid size, number of seeders, source limits per scrape and the complete info of a sources vid specs so you can make an informed choice. I forgot to mention the ability to authorize service APIs for providers like PM or RD for more reliable playback. Have a buffer free day.
I just signed up for Torbox after ignoring it for over a year.
I was having issues with my media flow proxy showing random IP addresses using real debrid.
It’s become pretty solid after a lot more people have started using it it seems. $3 and you get 37 days using a referral code.
Multiple IP streaming is why I tried it, and so far it’s finding plenty of high quality links. Set it up with Aiostreams to use Torrentio, Mediafusion,Comet, Knaben, etc.
So far it looks like I’ll stick with it. Servers are in South Africa unlike real debrid, who actually state this on their website:
“The User acknowledges not to use our service to download copyright infringement digital files punishable by a suspension of his account and reporting to competent organizations and authorities” Real-Debrid: All-in-one solution
If you’re using AIOstreams, make sure to also add one of the Torbox addons (one is called Torbox, one Torbox search), though maybe you’ve already done that anyway. You’ve already got some of the best ones added it looks like.
I agree with your reasons, Torbox and Premiumize are both “safer” than RD copyright wise because of their jurisdiction, South Africa and Malaysia respectively, with Torbox winning for me simply because of the lower price, more active development and no IP limit or fair use points system.
No, it isn’t. You only get a fraction of the streams it used to provide. Whether this is something to do with RD or just a general reduction in available stream providers these days, I don’t know.
RD no longer makes “cached” links available. That is the only difference that I know of. There could be more changes that I don’t know of. I still use it daily and find the amount of good links is sufficient to allow me to watch everything I want to.
I have cached links from RD in Torrentio all the time. They are characterized by the + beside the RD so it looks like this> RD+ Premiumize does the same thing and for PM+ they don’t count towards your “fair use” limit. Maybe it’s that RD no longer advertises the caching but on all my addons I have the ability to choose to use Only cached sources, even in RD and they all play just fine.
Thanks Miki! I did not know that. Learn something new every day.
Hey @Dminor9 no sweat my friend. I love reading your comments as you are very knowledgeable in this hobby and I have learned a number of things from you. Have a buffer free and enjoyable day. Stream ON.
