Does look like an impressive device! So I if I understand correctly it uses your phones data plan to connect to 4g network? Technology never ceases to amaze!
Hey, Miki, since this thing uses a sim card. Then I assume this is used like a phone. Is there a monthly line fee. I see a device fee but didn’t see an access/line fee.
I can’t find any payment structure or plans for the data usage. I only see prices for the device itself.

How is this different from a Jetpack and just using your phone as the hotspot?
I don’t have one, but it seems you can get a sim card from your own phone supplier and use it. I also see it comes with a 500mb included but I don’t see any exact details on how you top up your data plan. I assume it must hook up to your own supplier but don’t know for sure. Doing more research now. I found the first 500mb is free then it’s $27 for 3 GB
Yeah, I was interested until I couldn’t figure out how to get more data. the thing comes with only 500mb included. So, it will need an immediate data upgrade.
Have a look at my link above $27/3GBs.
I don’t see any data plans on the link you provided. It takes me to an ordering page for the device. I selected ONE and no other info popped up.
Read down. It shows $27 per 3GB. Damn I clicked the link and now that part doesn’t show
Let me see if I copied the wrong link.
Found this: “Once you’re in the self-service portal, you can pick and choose one of our awesome Viaota monthly plans.” However, the link does not show the data plans or costs. It seems you have to register your sim card first to “top up my data”. That means I have to buy the device first just to find out how they charge for their data plans. That’s a red flag to me.
I sent an email asking for Data plans and the costs. We’ll see how fast they respond. If they respond quickly then maybe legit. Respond slowly or nor at all, scam company.
I posted a screen shot of the offer that I found.
I see your pic. I take it that is from a phone link. The link I used on my laptop did not display that info.
Yes sir. Go to viaota.com That’s where I found the plans.

Ya the Canadian is a bit more by the looks of it. $53/mth for 10 GBs.
How much data does a 4K movie use…5gigs?
No idea. I’ve never spent the time to look. You can add your own sim card and use your carriers plan it says.
Okay, thanks for the info, but I think I’ll take a pass on this .
. This means just under 0.5 GB per hour for SD, approximately 1.1 GB per hour for HD, 2.25 GB per hour for Full HD, and 9 GB per hour for 4K.
Ya that can get pretty expensive. I get 15GBs on my plan and one movie would cut into that fast.
I think If you have unlimited data plan on your phone you can tie it into that
