Has anyone tried any Pendoo boxes? (Is Pendoo an independent, stable company or just sold by Amazon?) Are they good Android tv boxes? Which model is the best?
Theres a user here somewhere who swears by the t95 box, 4g/128. Ive never tried one and I believe they are of the allwinner variety.
I keep seeing them on Amazon, they look legit. But looks arent everything obviously. I searched for the company and cant really find much. I was looking at the T95…4g/128gb is pretty impressive.
for that much cash I would go with a mecool box instead…but thats just me
Lol…I have 2 of the KM6 deluxes…love them. But they are more expensive than the Pendoo T95. Still love my wifi6 in the Mecools.
ohhh yes. I have a km6 and its great. The allwinner of the t95 would be my concern. Amlogic is #1 pretty much by everyone, then rockchip and a distant 3rd is allwinner. Make sure it has av1 which is the new standard.
I had one and gave it away. It wasn’t a bad box . Just didn’t like the cheap china remote and the fact that it’s stock android and not Android tv .
I bought one a few years back, hated it. It worked but trying to load anything was such a pain in the butt, I sent it back. I opted for a SkyStream Pro and love it.
I have 2 T95Z Plus Android streaming Boxes. There are probably about 1/2 dozen of these Manufactureres and they are all out of China I believe. YMMV but IMO these boxes are fantastic!!! I’ve had one of these for about 6 years and the other for 4 years and have never had any type of issue with these. I never shut them off, they have never overheated on me. I bought both on Amazon. The Specs are always changing so just make sure you are okay with the processor speed, RAM, Storage, and other spec’s.
Hi @AMD237 I bought one of these about 11 months ago, fought with it for 2 wks and it’s been sitting in the box ever since. I would have to grade this one as junk!
I think the stock Android, lack of Wifi 6 and the fact that the company isnt that well known would steer me away from any of these. I was hoping they were better, because the specs for the price seems pretty good to me. A few users have had good experiences with them, but for even less money you can get a 4K max (even though I’m mad at Amazon for blocking Launcher Manager lol). The 4K Max has easily expandable storage, so I think that might be the way to go for satellite TVs unless you really wanted to invest in Mecool or the Nvidia Shield.
There are loads of these generic China android boxes on Amazon, Gearbest, Geekbuying and other web sights. A word of advice, be careful. Plenty of these boxes tout some impressive specs, (3+ gb ram, 32+ gb memory, 1.8 mhz+ processors, etc.) and I have tried about 20 of them. The problem with most of these is heat build up and lack of ventilation. I have had several otherwise excellent performing boxes cook and fail after 6 to 18 months because of this. A well made device will have a good sized heat sink over the processor and an ample amount of ventilation holes on the bottom AND sides of the box. If you are still wanting one of these generic boxes, you should make sure it has sufficient ventilation holes and get a usb fan to put under it to improve ventilation and cooling. Passive ventilation on these boxes won’t cut it over the long haul.
That is great advice! Which gives me a terrific invention idea…water cooled Android boxes. Wooohooooo! Love it!
Some of us here at Troypoint absolutely love the Ugoos and BuzzTV boxes for their specs, build quality, heat management and customization capabilities. They rival the streaming performance of the Nvidia Shield, but cost less.
Check this out. Amazing what some can figure out to help. Can do this on about any device you can open the case on.
many frown upon stock android however I prefer stock if you like to do as you please then stock is the way to go. Dont get me wrong I have nvidea shield and mecool boxes but I also have my ugoos stock favs.
Is the Ugoos UT8 Pro stock Android? I thought it ran Android 11.
it is android 11 but stock with a root switch. Generally when you have a box that is or can be rooted it will be stock. Android tv does not allow rooting.
edit…Chigz has the ut-8 rated #4 overall
As I said YMMV. I have 2 of these Generic Stock android T95Z Plus boxes from 2 different Manufacturers. One is 6 years old, the other almost 4 years old. I NEVER shut these boxes off and have never had any overheating or any other issues with these. I run Builds, have loads of Apps and never need to worry about storage space.
Speaking of Nvidia Shield Pro, Amazon has it on sale for the next couple hours for the best price I’ve ever seen…$169.99.
