I have searched this topic but found only a mention of it, this is what I have done so far, I use IPVanish set on Boston or Chicago
1: uninstalled PBS, deleted the source, cleared kodi 19’5 cache, re-installed PBS still get same message
2: uninstalled PBS, deleted source, uninstalled kodi, Reinstalled Kodi 19.5, set up kodi, reloaded PBS, still same message
3:uninstalled PBS, deleted source, uninstalled kodi 19.5, set firestick to default,
4: setup firestick, reloaded kodi 19.5, set up kodi, installed PBS, still same message
5: I had also tried the 20.1 ver of kodi with same results. Is PBS now blocking VPN’s or is there a better cure. also PBS was the only addon installed while I tried to sort out the problem, when the problem started I had other addons that worked ok.
Thanks for any suggestions.
I discovered that PBS wouldn’t work with a VPN a couple of months ago.
I don’t think you have to worry about legality with this addon anyway.
Would a PBS m3u work for you? You can install the m3u in your Tivimate and have access to tons of PBS stations across the US. If, you want it I can PM it to you.
Btw, I also have the epg that goes with it but the m3u8 should auto install an epg.
Hey Power, I’d like the PBS m3u8, too.
thanks, I would like to try it.

Well it appears as if the m3u8 file doesn’t like VPNs either.
I tried a few channels with both IPVanish and Proton VPN and it shows a 403 error message. The same channels play fine with no VPN engaged.
Try different protocols and servers.
I did…not all of the available servers, of course
But with IPV, protocol didn’t seem to matter.
I’ll try some more locations/servers at some point.
I’m not sure that not using a VPN is a problem this this case anyway.
