Hello, I’ve configured four of these now and they were all functioning properly but all of a sudden one of them won’t connect to my home Internet. Rebooted and unplugged everything and started back up, says it’s connected but then also says no Internet connection. Can’t access, Netflix, Hulu, Kodi, etc… I’ve forgotten the Internet and reconnected still won’t work. However, when I connect to my hotspot, the device works. Home Internet is spectrum. Doesn’t work whether I try to connect to IP vanish on or not. Any thoughts? Thanks.
Try forgetting your network connections, then clear all cache. Unplug.
Unplug your router(modem couldn’t hurt)
Wait for about 30 seconds then restar plugging devices in, starting with the modem.
Thanks for the assist, the only thing I hadn’t done was clearing the cache. Just did that, and restarted, unplugged, forgot network, etc. Still does not work. In the wireless settings it says internet is connected, no internet. Works off a wireless hotspot so something is going on with the Spectrum connection.
Try connecting the box back to your hotspot.
Then see if any updates are available. Hope that works for you . If not you may have to do a complete reboot…
Just checked, it’s up to date. Grrrr. Thanks for trying.
I just had a moment of clarity. Uninstall your vpn, then try connecting. Im thinking it got switched to block internet
I am doing all of this without connecting to a vpn but just for fun I will uninstall. Be back.
make sure always scan for wifi is turned on
I have had this issue with a couple of onn boxes. even after a factory reset… same issue. other boxes connected and working fine on same network. brought them back to walmart and got a new one. sometimes the remotes will just stop working also. have to pair them again by pressing the button on the box. for $20 you can’t expect a mercedes benz. but the budget model toyota, it gets great gas mileage and gets you where you need to go
Thanks for confirming this is an issue. You’re right, $20, it is what it is. Unfortunately this is the one I put together and shipped to my nephew 1200 miles away so it’s hard to troubleshoot. Sounds like I just start over with a new one.
Thanks!
Here’s something to try. The ONN doesn’t keep an internal clock. Go to settings and make sure you have the correct date and especially time.
BINGO. I was having that problem with a 4k and did all the fixes but nothing worked. I guess you have to play nice with Google because I switched it on (was that default and I nixed it for privacy?) and that is what got it to actually get the internet! Thanks Texas Ron my man.
I already sold my soul to Google, so what the hell is another permission? My brother used to say, I’ve got to either sell my soul to Google or to Amazon, and I choose Google. lol
