Good morning! The boxes from the USA sort of wanted a VPN hotspot, I used my laptop to be set up in Canada. SS doesn’t support a hotspot on a mobile phone. IF you live in Canada, all three Onn boxes are now available so you can easily get one and not think about it. I don’t know if they put the same georestrictions for just Canada on them if you’re outside of North America. It’s was too early to know but since they are finally letting go of the leash on this device after two years, I would like to think they can be used anywhere.

The update was an Android update. No problems here. Even the updates on the Onn OS were no problem. The only issue that was reported initially was not being able to set it up outside of the USA or Puerto Rico. After it was set up, no more issues ever reported. No VPN needed etc except for obvious reasons when you should use one.

Are you saying you don’t need Launcher Manager with the latest version from the Playstore? Do you have the version number?
You addressed this to @dgthecomputeruy but I thought I would mention that I use Projectivy on all four Onn devices (Android TV/Google TV 4k originals Onn devices), both a Pro and a Plus and a Chromecast w/GTV.
I have never used Launch Manager with them, the only time was with a Firestick. Even then I dropped it and used a different one.
I am not even sure which version I have… Just search it in playstore and get latest version. I know that I have check for updates turned on and it just updated to the newest version because there was some noticeable changes to the format. in the settings of projectivy launcher, I go into settings, general and turn on over ride default launcher, turn off the option about channels, then go to the power settings and turn on the resume from standby option. Then i go to the system settings of the ONN box, accessibility options and enable projectivy launcher there. Have installed it on many many ONN devices, all models and no issues. stream on
I just bought an ONN pro and i can’t get downloader to come up when I search. I turned off the toggle in security when following the troypoint video. I even had an older OS version from march and had an update to the one pictured above. So I am updating it. If I can’t get it to work I am going to return it and just keep my firesticks. I wanted something more fast and more storage and could customize it but this isn’t starting out to well. LOL
Don’t give up. It’s in the playstore, find it using another device if you need to. Not changing to Onn and staying with the ever more useless Fire sticks would not be a great way to go.

Hmmm I just tested this on my ONN box. At the very top scroll over to the search button (magnifying glass). Type in downloader and hit enter. It will be the very first one colored orange called Downloader by AFT

I got it all set up! Its super fast compared to firestick. I even downloaded TV Quick Actions pro to program buttons for certain apps. I also have F Launcher and launch manager working. I have two IPTV’s I manage. One is for a family friend but now they never use it so I use it sometimes when my original is down for maintenance or whatever. I have my friends on IPTV smarters…the only issue is it loads…I select Live TV….it will load the channel list but then it just goes back to home screen….any ideas?? I force closed and cleared cache….restarted the box….nothing has fixed it.
I would have replied sooner but I was on a 23 hr hold for being a new member! Thanks guys!!

If you want to see the live tv programming inclucing things like Stingray music, make sure you’re in the USA or connected to a USA VPN. The menu actually changes dynamically if you’re not and these options are no longer available. ** This is not for IPTV, it’s the Onn live tv from google
My onn 4k pro just crashed, wouldn’t connect to my internet. Tried everything even the reset button to no avail. Thank the Lord I still had my Firestick still installed as a backup! It still works and to my ears the audio is better. If this is the way updates go for this device I won’t be purchasing another one anytime soon

It’s pretty easy to fix a bricked ONN box. Trust me I bricked mine twice messing with Launchers. Thanks to this post from @Miki I was able to restore both times:
Reset your ONN to factory.
1:Hold reset button on back of box for 5 seconds
2:unplug the device
3 still holding reset for 10 seconds
4: still hold the reset plug the box back in.
Use the reset button to scroll through the listed options by quick clicking the button, then once you find the factory reset
Press and hold the button to initiate the command

Hopefully the hard reset works more reliably with the plus and pro than with the older 4k.
Only one of my two older ONNs would be revived, albeit without it being able to recognize an external USB drive. The other, completely bricked.
