Onn AndroidTV Volume Problem

I’ve done a little bit of searching but haven’t seen anything similar to my problem. My Onn’s volume level is very low but only on certain apps. On every other volume problem I have seen the volume is low on all apps.

What do you suppose would cause only some of the apps to be low?

Thanks!

Larry

Go to Settings > Set up remote buttons.

Go to Volume Control (under Remote buttons) and make sure it is set to auto instead of controlling your TV or other device.

Press the volume rocker on the remote control and raise the volume to 100% as shown on the onscreen volume display appearing on your screen as you raise the volume. Your Onn 4K box has an internal volume control and it was 50% by default and now you have 100% volume. Your Onn 4K box should now sound as loud as your other devices!

Make sure to set Volume Control back from Auto to your TV or other device so your volume rocker controls that device again.

You can also tell Google to set max volume. That fixed mine in the ONN.

And if Miki’s suggesstion does not work make sure CEC is Off then try again.
Then you can put CEC back on.

On my Onn I can have 3 football games playing using TiviMate Multiscreen.
Two will have normal volume, one might have very low volume.
I think this mostly proves the Network source of the stream is the volume problem.
I can’t remember what network had the low volume, anyone else have this??

Exactly…if you use an iptv service & you go to NCAA Football group or NFL group to watch the games from there…every feed may or may not have volume differences…especially if the feeds are coming from network channels across the country, as opposed to a cable channel like espn or fox sports etc.

On the Max have you tried the Audio settings under DISPLAY & Sounds? There is an Advanced Audio section that has "Volume Leveler as well as “Dialogue Enhancer”. Not sure if AndroidTV has an equivelant settings.

Just looked thru my 2 androids…both o/s 10…didn’t see any settings of that nature…but I’m about as observant as tree bark these days…so

In my experience w/cable & streaming boxes…major volume variations seem to mostly originate from the source…but with the variety of devices out there these days…who knows

From my observation that’s where the Audio Settings on the Max come into play. The setting “normalizes” the volume making it the same regardless of the sources variations.

Then that’s a nice setting/on board component to have…wonder if/why other devices do or don’t have it…? Cube…Shield et al

Not to start an androidTV v AmazonTV discussion but it’s one of many things I find better on AmazonTV than AndroidTV.

Copy…but I would imagine whatever electronic gizmo or lines of code that give your 4K the ability to do that in real time would be a major plus for any & all other devices…why just on the Amazon/Android hybrid O/S/devices…? I find it somewhat annoying that I have to adjust the volume on a single channel…especially when I’m bouncing back n’ forth between games…if ya catch my drift.

Again…I wonder what other devices (if any) have that ability  cause I want it on my boxes.

Oh I agree. Another excellent tool I have is a visual AV Sync tuner, that makes it easy to adjust out of sync audio using a visual tool.

Also another handy thing to have…I’ve run into that before myself…but generally had a different server channel to go to till it got back in sync.

I have not seen a Volume Leveler or Dialogue Enhancer on the Onn Android TV box.
Both would be welcomed.

Thanks Miki, that did the trick.

It’s funny, I saw this very solution you posted to another volume level problem but I ignored it because what the OP’s problem was apparently having was across the board. I don’t know how or why your solution solved my apparently random app volume levels, but who cares? :+1:!!

Miki, where can I find that sync app? Doing it by ear is rather difficult unless I can find a drummer playing some beats.
