About once a week the audio on my 9 month old Onn 4k Pro stutters, have to unplug it and plug it back in. Not a big deal when I’m home, but I work afternoons and the gf is here by herself. She puts up with my mad scientist IPTV experiments, but I wondered if anyone else experienced this?
try a different HDMI cable
I’ve just been reading up on this issue and seems there are a number of workarounds. Better HDMI cable. In the app you are using turn off frame rate matching. Turn CEC off and then back on. Some point to Android 14 as the culprit. So far I haven’t found a perfect one choice fix all option, but apparently it’s a wide spread issue.
Are you using Bluetooth for your speakers? I have no issue on my sound bar directly connected into tv but have occasional issues with a Bluetooth speaker on a different tv with the onn pro. The tv speaker doesn’t have the issue only the Bluetooth.
Nope, hdmi to stereo receiver
Mine does the same thing. I need to remove power and reboot it to fix the problem.
The cheap little Onn sticks I have on other TVs in the house have never had this problem.
Trying turning the surround sound setting off on your ONN 4K Pro
Settings > Display & Sound > Advanced Sound Settings > Select None / No Surround Sound
This has been discussed as a solution to audio loss in another thread.
Maybe this will also fix the audio stutter as well.
Ok, I will, thank you!
I have a stuttering issue with buzz 6 while using stremio. I get Dolby audio message on screen then stuttering begins.i have to choose a link without Dolby audio. Weird but similar to your problem.no problem in kody.just stremio. Annoying.
is this related to onn pro? i think you posted in the wrong thread?
It happens on the Onn no matter what we are using, Tivimate, Stremio, doesnt matter.
I’ll try turning off the surround and see what happens, but what’s the point of having a surround sound system then….
I have two new Onn 4K Pro’s I have been having the same problem with the audio stuttering. The only way I have been able to temporarily clear it is do a system restart.
Still having stuttering audio with both Onn 4kPro’s. Turned off surround sound and replaced both HDMI cables , still stutters about once a week. My Firesticks did not have this problem. Still have to do a system restart.
talked about on reddit alot
Turn off the Tunneled Playback. For some devices this seems to cause an audio issue especially with 4K Dolby Video playback. I have a Samsung TV so no DTS or Dolby vid, but I still get Dolby Atmos. So I don’t get the stuttering as my Samsung only does HDR, HDR10 and 10+
I can’t find that setting - is that a setting for the Onn box or in each app, like Tivimate, Sparkle, etc?
Tunneled playback is in the Stremio settings.
Ok, it only does this about once a week but pretty sure it’s not limited to Stremio - I’ll confirm next time.
Thanks everyone for your input!
Actually I just checked, my tunneled playback was already off. That may have been covered on Troys setup video, or was just off naturally, I wouldnt know whether to turn that off or on, I have no idea what it does.
Onward and upward…….
