So I use a Firestick when traveling due to being able to connect to hotel wi-fi . I tried the original Onn 4K and had very difficult time connecting it to hotel wi-fi.
I had a mini Bluetooth Rii +8 mini keyboard that would not pair with original Onn. Has anyone had luck with this new 4K Plus connecting to hotel wi-fi ?
Iām not a fan of amazon devices due to their OS and would like to replace it with something Android TV or Google TV based

The Onn 4K Plus is very nice. 30 bucks. Simple setup. Set one up last night. Highly recommended.

OTG Cable just arrived so I hooked it up. I have gig service so direct connected to the router via ethernet. Wifi gets 100+/- both down and up. First run got 350 down and 175 up. Second run got 100+/- down and up. Noticed that analyti said it was running wifi. Repeat on another TV and same thing. Tried a different usb/ethernet adapter with the same results. Conclusion: The Onn plus works fine out of the box. Donāt mess with it and it will be fine. It out performs the Firestick at 1/3 less the cost. If you want ethernet and/or memory expansion you canāt go wrong with the Onn 4k Pro for 20 bucks more. Wait a year and the Pro may have the same chip as the plus (or better). Note had to edit this due to spell check.

Hey been searching GitHub YouTube etc I updated my ONN 4K TV Android 14box. It is now Android 14 and since Iāve done that I cannot get permissions for Kodi fork or regular kodi21.1 put the permissions on ,the button stays on but then when I go to press okay it says I still didnāt give it permissions I really like onn box but weāll have to throw it in the garbage if I canāt open Kodi by the way Cinema film Plus that works it gives me permission for just Kodi s hey buddy if anybody could help me you can Troy.
I remember after updating the ONN Pro to android 14 the first time I opened KODI I got a message about permissions. I only had to scroll down a bit and enable KODI and everything worked. I donāt remember having to hit an okay button? Hope you get squared away

So you understand my dilemma I have the $19.99 box I got to stop getting a habits always updating is there anyway I can up date it back to Android 12 or 11 whichever it was because I just downloaded the fork 19.5 and when it tried to open to give permission and I do it works but anything above 19.5 regular or fork some reason it just keeps clicking off (All ffilesacess ) in special app access. Iām just so upset that I updated to the Android 14 cuz now this box is absolutely useless to me everything else works cinema all downloader everything just fork and Kodi. So what I mentioned you get what you pay for I guess youāre right but it was working so good I love this o&m box I was able to get away from the fire stick but I guess itās back to fire Stick for KMAX and he help will be appreciated buddy thanks Mark I sometimes go on he had to catch updates of whatās going on and Iāll be really quick to help somebody also Thatās what this is all about
Question I too have the ONN 4K and it was awesome until I updated to the 14th Android now I canāt open my Kodi 21 or fork 21 in did you run into this problem if not DO NOT update os

Do not update os to 14 ,ONN box 4k I did now kodi21 will not receive permissions Android 14 has a space now for files managing files permissions you click it on you go back to Cody and itās back off again very frustrating I really set this code in 21 up great
I am not experiencing any problems with KODI on my ONN 4K Pro after updating to android 14. I know many others here with an ONN Box have also upgraded to Android 14 without issues as well. I have seen your posts in different threads about this and it appears the issues may be on your end. I suggest doing a Factory reset of your ONN Box at this point.

Yes you mentioned that but I donāt have the pro or the plus Iām hoping thatās the last resort factory reset and lose everything start over just hoping that goes back to Android 11 or 12 whatever it was before otherwise itās useless because I also did research on GitHub and theyāre saying the Kodi experts over there that an Android 14 itās not given Kodi access to the storage something about writing to it they canāt even get a call log because other people are experiencing this and the guy keeps fixing for the log and got keeps telling them weāre not getting along because itās not writing to the file or something like that anyway thanks Mark I think thatās going to do my last resort

Hey update I uninstall fork 21.1 which is working perfect before the update luckily I saved backup on the backup in Cody respiratory and right now itās loading the add-ons back on so for some reason after the update those Kodi files Kodi 21 and 421 less than corrupt just so happy I back this stuff up thank you very much Mark I try to help people out all the time on here and youāre the only one that responded to me and I really appreciate you man thank you for your patience

I can tell you my Onn 4k with Android TV (2021/22) also updated to 14, a factory reset still updates to 14.

Thank you glad I didnāt because after update I had to remove KODI 21 n 20 n reinstall them restored back up n they are excepting all permissions. Then contacted forum GitHub and answered guy with same problem thatās what itās about passing on the help.
I noticed mine didnāt work with any HDMI cables I own it only works with theirs thatās not a good sign. Also bad reviews about bricked devices from firmware updates. I took mine back to Wallyworld for a refund. Iāll keep my Fire Cube
