I was a fire stick user prior to joining Troypoint and now I have a bunch of boxes but my goto is the Shield Pro. Some of the newer boxes have newer features (as previously mentioned) but the Shield has been bullet proof for me and if they make and updated version I will be buying one.

Nvidia Pro is the best box ever built. Worth every dollar (can’t say penny any more as they stopped making them) I will keep mine for ever as long as it does not fail.

I hope that the YT video got you started on setting your Shield up.
As far as your question about “other media apps from the tool box”. Each item in the tool box comes with an option to “download” or watch a “tutorial”. So if unfamiliar with the apps then you should watch the tutorial. Also, if you want to do more research then the magnifying glass, in the upper right hand corner, will lead you to more discussions and info on the various apps.

My hangup on this shield business i am so used to firestick the settings. I had to watch the onn instructions 4 times just to find the right tab. Then trying to use the onn instructions on the shield was a circus.
I guess im gonna be reading alot.

Hang in there @Jazzed56 , you’ll get the hang of it an it’ll get easier, but lots of good info here for reading

@Jazzed56 , if you put in the effort–searching for answers in the many topics, reading/reading/and reading some more, watching videos(sure-it may take 4 times every once in a while and I am not the Captain of that boat but i’m right in there with you) - lots of Patrons and others here who are willing to help someone that puts in the effort that it really takes to stay on top of this ever changing hobby/addiction/whatever you choose to call it….so when ya get stumped, here we iz….
Also, i don’t think any of us are here looking for a pat on the back for helping, but a Thank You is a nice gesture and sure goes a long way, Plus, that may help others with a similar issue who are reading the post to try what worked for you….so you know, two birds….
Me too, but Amazon brought this “Onn” themselves!
One thing you can do to make the transition a little easier is to use the FireTV device remote - pair it with the shield and it works pretty well.

Mine died sick a long time ago. Not sure why I kept it but it’s in a bag in the closet.
